Not sure if I’m posting in the right thread. Still new. Working on the paint. Some streaks and tips got smudged on in spots. And I don’t like the eye cuts. Not sure what needs sanding and what is good. I got this tots Kirk just to see if I could make a decent h1 to wear. Any tips advice or whatever to help would be appreciated.
What I would do is apply flesh tone under the chin around the neck and back of neck along with around the hairline, nose, mouth and under the cheek bones. I actually don’t use a paint since I can’t find the right color. I use this skin color eye shadow that I lightly apply in those areas. It sticks on quite well actually. When that’s done I do a light coat of Krylon White and don’t go to heavy in the flesh tone areas. For the nose and mouth I mix black acrylic and water and gently apply it to darken them subtlety. For weathering I wet the whole mask and take a makeup sponge and wipe black and brown acrylic all around and then wipe it off. After a few layers of this it will look weathered.I also use streak and tips but I lightly mist it so it’s more of a dark brown with a little bit of blonde instead of black. I think the hairline on yours can go a tad more forward as well. Also styling can make or break the look. I wet the hair and swirl it around till it’s not straight and uniform then I flatten it down before lightly pulling some strands out on the sides for the classic shape hair style. For the eyecuts I would outline them with a pencil using various reference pictures before cutting them. I also open the mouth slit a tad so a castle stretch can form when worn. Make sure to take your time on all of this and not rush it. Below is some of my rehauls and reference pictures I use myself.
Looks pretty good. The weathering is done well. Really looks dirty/grimy. I’d probably suggest flattening the hair a bit though and maybe go a step further and getting some streak n tips to darken it just like in the original.
what is best way to attach hair to a mask? I’m rehauling some TOTS and finishing some blanks I ordered and some advice would be great so I don’t mess it up
