IM SORRY BUT…I HAVE TO AGREE I’VE NEVER LIKED THE DB2, YES THERE IS SOME GOOD THINGS ABOUT IT BUT NOT ENOUGH FOR ME TO GO APE SHEET ABOUT.
MY PREF IS IF A MASK DOES NOT CATCH MY EYE AND I SAY TO MY SELF HOLY F&%$ I WISH I COULD HAVE THAT IN MY COLLECTION I REALLY DON’T LIKE IT. AS FOR ALL THE PSYCHOS I DON’T KNOW HOW PEOPLE THINK THE IT’S OVERATED IN THEIR MINDS 
IF YOU DON’T HAVE OWN ONE IN PERSON AND SEEN IT YOU WOULD CHANGE YOUR MIND GUARANTEED IF YOU DID. I THINK IT PULLS OFF H1 PERFECT IN SO MANY WAYS OTHER MASKS JUST CAN’T BECAUSE THE PSYCHO HAS NATURAL SHADOWING TOO IT AND IMO TAKES THE BEST PICS OF ALL. JMO

I think it really comes down to particular copies of a mask rather than masks per se.
I have owned several Psychos and only owned one which I actually thought was a keeper. Other than their great side profile most Psychos are only “ok” for the most part in my opinion. One copy I had was an exception.
On the other hand I’ve seen DB2s I wouldn’t buy at even 300.00 but the DB2 I have is the best H1 mask I have EVER owned after owning over 100 Myers masks through the years. You can take two of the same (titled) masks and they can look almost COMPLETELY different, it really comes down to the copy. Some masks of a particular run are worthy of their praise and some leave you scratching your head.

I know these are opinions but I dont understand how anyone could say that the H78 is overrated… I mean, its one of the best, if not best mask in this hobby.

I was thinking the same thing. I know it depends on particular h78 copies but the h78 is one of the most accurate masks out there. Granted, that the type of finishing or conversion weigh in on accuracy, but I think the truth is (even though some wont admit it) that many people feel the h78 is over rated because simply there are too many of them, which have been done over and over and over again.
I for one, feel that the h78 pulls off the best h1 look when converted or finished properly. Hands down that is.

as for overrated its all about the copy, and the opinion
for me i would have to say the maniac, classic 75, 75k, warlock, overrated due to the dfact that they get the most attention, not because the mask is bad.
I think the truth is (even though some wont admit it) that many people feel the h78 is over rated because simply there are too many of them, which have been done over and over and over again.
I can definitely see that, im sure that with so many of them popping up it kind of overkilled it for some people, but hey, a good mask is a good mask!
Well for me, first of all there’s so many out there right now and to me I see alot of things “off” about the mask, not saying it’s a bad mask at all, I mean I’d like to own one, but it’s definitely not the best to get IMO.
I honestly have to say I feel as a collecter community we are blessed to have so many amazing masks. All things considered, I don’t think ANY are overrated.
First of all I think all of the mask makers I mention make some amazing masks. It’s just sometimes Myers isn’t a showcase for their best work.
Now then…
Overated:
- Most all DB masks with a few amazing DB2 refinished exceptions. The masks look more like Bill O’Reilly with bad skin than William Shatner.
- Most Nightowl masks with exceptions of some amazing early Psychos and Nightmare Man’s plus a very small handful of Psychos 81’s. Justin needs to start over or something. Eye holes and hairline are way off and only got worse over the years. I haven’t seen a decent Nightmare Man Returns or Psycho from the last couple of years.
- All MMFX Myers masks without exception. They look too thin. Cheeks aren’t full enough.
- Fear. Mask is way too big. Makes people look like a bobble head.
Underated: Nightmare finished by JC (Best H2 mask out there)
Overall it really depends on the mask itself not the “Brand” name.
Overrated- H78 (the proportions are extremely off, the eyes are set to far apart, the face is itty bitty compared to the back of the head which is bulbous and requires more hair to rehair than any Myers mask I have come across). The Mint75 too is an overrated piece and proportionally is highly flawed; however, it appears Nik has resolved these proportional issues with regards to his newer masks, ie Rarer, 2k Kirk, 75k Kirk…
Maybe its to new to be appreciated fully but this HSS 75k Coverted by JC looks amazing. I mean from this video it looks 100% movie accurate would anyone agree?
