When I saw the film in the theater I’m pretty sure it was the unrated version because it had the (unnecessary) rape scene and I remember Laurie Strode fingering a bagel. When I rented the film later on I discovered that both scenes were gone and were only on the unrated edition. I’m curious to see how many saw the unrated version the theater?
could of sworn the unrrated version was thrown together after the flick
The bagel part was always in the film. I’m also positive the rape scene wasn’t in the theatrical version since it was replaced after test screenings. I haven’t heard of anyone else seeing it when it was in theaters, and I doubt one print of the movie got a scene that the others didn’t.
I saw theatrical version in theaters which IMO had the better escape
I saw that bitch in theaters 3 times. No rape scene until DVD.
ya, same for me…three rape scene took me by surprise

The rape scene is what ruined the unrated version for me but I still kinda like the theatrical version.

the rape scene was the biggest POS ever… love the zombie music but that scene really made me dislike… just white trashed it even more than it could already be
rape scene… boo hoo. Its not like Mike raped anyone. It was the lunatics running the place. He saved her. Get over it. Its just a movie. We all have our own opinions and I didn’t mind it. Just made it more ‘grungy’ and violent. No disrespect meant by this post.
Both escape scenes don’t work for me, and it’s not because I was offended by them either (anybody who actually gets offended by the rape scene probably shouldn’t be watching horror films in the first place). They’re both WAY too convenient. Zombie sort of wrote himself into a corner in that regard. By showing us Michael’s life inside the sanitarium, he limited how he could possibly escape. It’s really the only scene in the remake that I don’t care for.
didnt bother me, my fav movies are last house and i spit on your grave. it just sucked, i pretty much liked zombieween but that and a few other small scenes sucked. exspescilly that one
I think the rape added value. I like to view Michael as giving some justice to the trash he discards. I know, not all that he killed were trash or deserved it but most did…hahahah…it is my twisted world…march on Michael…march on
I get what you’re saying. One thing I love about the original film is that we don’t know exactly how Michael escaped. We just see the patients wandering around in the dark and it was so creepy. It leaves the details to your imagination.
However the scene in RZ’s movie doesn’t bug me too much. It’s a bit too convenient but it had to happen somehow. For me, him walking to Haddonfield on foot and surviving all those gunshot wounds even though he’s human overshadows the escape scene.
Thank you
No disrespect, but of you are offended when something CRAZY or unorthodox happens in a horror movie… Stick to the Disney Channel. Do you not know where/site you are posting on?
