I remember seeing a video of someone doing this. Want to style the hair on one of my masks and considering it. Anyone done it or have opinions on it?
Don’t do it. It will discolor the hair with a cloudy white mist. Not so apparent when used lightly as a paint sealant, but on hair, it sticks out.

Water for matting, Aquanet to hold it, and a firm but not shiny hair gel (like Got 2 B Glue) for horns or areas needing particular attention.

For what it’s worth, I use that ultra hold aqua net hair spray. You don’t want to go crazy with it though. Style the hair to where you like it, and like doctormixter said above you can use some water to mat it down. Then at a good foot and a half distance just give quick light bursts while making a sweeping motion. This way you don’t get any build up or shine on the hair.
You can then style in the horns and what not before it dries. If you want to use gel for this part then that works just fine too.
This is just my method. If you do it right it won’t look like you sprayed it at all.
Agreed with what’s been posted above. Just wet it a bit and spray here and there while you shape it. Perhaps wear gloves if ya want. I didn’t. Hands were pretty sticky from the hair spray lol, but just rinse with soap and water afterwards. No biggie. Never tried gel as hair spray worked fine for me. I used aqua net ultra hold I believe.
