I purchased this Warlock from CGP back in 2010 or 11. First quality Myers mask that I ever had. No problems with the purchase, but I’ve always thought that mine looked a little off compared to some of the photos I’ve seen of other Warlocks. I know it is supposed to look like Dick Warlock’s head is in the mask, but my mask always seems to have that longer face, rather than the classic H2 round look. Is this just a matter of stuffing the mask differently to get that Warlock stretch? Also, I requested a mask as close to the film as he could make, and it arrived with much lighter hair than I had seen in other photos. Is this possibly a Sandman edition? Hadn’t ever really thought much of these details until years later, and now that I’m more into the hobby again I just thought I could get some answers from the experts! Let me know what you think. Thanks!
This mask is an example of an awful stretch recast, you can only really stuff it so much and even with Velcro, it misses the mark of the H2 look, if you are going for the Velcroed version of the stretch, it really needs the neck to be tight and the cheekbone area stuffed the widest, like so
Thanks for the reply. I’ll try that and see if it helps some. Wasn’t sure if this was typical with Warlocks or if mine was just messed up. He must have used different hair colors, as I’ve seen several different ones. I was definitely hoping for my mask to be more accurate to the movie, so I’ll probably try a different one in the future. What are some good H2’s?
The H2SM is pretty much the closest currently with a built in Warlock stretch, but there is also the Original H2 by Spookhouse props, the main thing is the details in the sculpt also being done well enough and lighting, but those 2 and also the Creep and Night Owl Shat are others I recommend
I’m not gonna put down your mask, instead I’ll offer some advice. It’s the way you have it displayed buddy. You need to stuff it properly on a stand and it will look like other Warlocks. I can’t tell but it looks like you may have it on a foam head, which can distort the shape of a mask. It also looks to be sitting on your display crooked. Stuff some bags in the top of the head and put it on a stand. Paper towel stands are a great alternative to custom mask stands. Hope this helps.
As for alternatives with a built in Warlock stretch. There are a few like mentioned above, and also one that I make “EMP2”. I’ll post a pic below. However, with a little stuffing you can make your Warlock look like all the other Warlocks you see.
Very cool mask! Yeah it is on a foam head, with some bags stuffed around the sides. Definitely not the greatest setup haha. I’ll definitely try a stand and stuff it with bags differently. Just looking for that rounder look, so hopefully it will look alot better now. When stuffing with bags, should I fill most of the mask with plastic bags or just toward the top of the head? Not sure if I needed to pack bags around the stand itself or if that is all just preference. Thanks so much for the help man! I appreciate it.
