WARNING: Halloween Ends SPOILER Thread: ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK

Found some potentially BIG spoilers for the entire movie, including the ending. As always, take these with a grain of salt, but just know they do seem to match up with what we’ve seen and read thus far…

(blacked out / scroll over to read)

_Michael has been living in the sewers for the past 4 years.

Haddonfield has moved on and is completely unaware that there are murders happening around town for most of the film.

Michael isn’t on Laurie or Allyson’s mind anymore until the very end of the film.

Laurie narrates the movie, which is framed as her memoirs. She also encourages Allyson to go to parties and have fun for the first two acts of the movie. Allyson spends much of that time on her work and romantic life, while Laurie spends a lot of time interacting with the people of Haddonfield.

A guy named Corey accidentally kills a kid he was babysitting

Corey finds Michael in the sewer and Michael lets him live

Corey becomes a copycat killer and dresses up as Michael

The killers don’t do a lot of stalking, but there’s plenty of attacking.

One of Michael’s kills is a recreation of what he did to Bob in the first movie, down to the tilting his head and admiring his handiwork afterward.

The plot and killings (15 kills) span over a course of a week, not one night like every other Halloween movie.

Lindsay only has a few scenes, nothing as dramatic as the chase scene in the previous movie, also doesn’t even have a scene with Michael Myers. Same goes for Hawkins. They both survive.

Corey is killed

Laurie and Michael have a brutal fight and she eventually gashes his neck open he strangles her and Allyson appears to deal the final blow. Then the whole town take his body to the junkyard and watch as Laurie destroys his body with equipment. Then an epilogue of Laurie finishing her book and her and Allyson finally leave Haddonfield behind

Barker only had one line in one of the cuts; he didn’t appear at all in the other._

I know we have a Halloween Kills/Ends discussion thread, but I thought we needed a “Spoiler” thread. So any spoilers please post them “HERE”.

P.S. if the Admins wish to delete this, please feel free. No problem at all

I know a lot of people claim to have info, and I’ve been able to read between the lines of their comments - but I’ve yet to be able to find a good source for the leaks.

I’ll be honest. If nothing was surmised outside of the general synopsis released by the studio, that alone is enough to make me shake my head. Every “twist” injected into this story arc (if you can even call it that) has ranged from laughable to outright ridiculous. The doctor in the first film belonged in something like Halloween 5 and the execution of the mob mentality in Kills (along with the mistaken identity chase) was quite honestly embarrassing. I have zero reason to believe that somehow they will forge a new twist that carries any creative weight to it after these last two efforts. All of it feels just thrown in without any real connective tissue to the overall narrative. Can you honestly imagine watching a wrap up installment in which the actual Myers is not present until probably the third act? How many times will anyone want to watch that? Even Curtis said it would piss fans off. Thats pretty definitive when your lead actor shakes their head publicly.

“I’ll be honest. If nothing was surmised outside of the general synopsis released by the studio, that alone is enough to make me shake my head.”

couldn’t have said it better myself, the copy cat killer twist alone is enough for me to not want to see this

Man I wished they let it end with 2018. I didn’t like the doctor plotline and some of the dialogue was cringe but outside of that it was a solid sequel. Kills was atrocious and this sounds pretty awful too. I don’t get it either, I was a fan of Gordon Green before Halloween. Joe (2013) was my favourite movie of that year, Prince Avalanche and Pineapple Express were great for what they were as well. He seems better than this.

Do you think maybe Blumhouse screwed him over? I’ve heard a couple directors who got their vision and original story hacked by major studios before.

This is just a wild guess.

An unpopular truth for some here: Jason Blum injects a great deal of identity politics and woke virtue-signaling into almost everything he’s put out in the last few years. Add JLC’s insane need to make Laurie a feminist icon and you have this abominable trilogy.

Ahh jeez, that sucks. I do not know how much Blumhouse was involved in the making of the trilogy and how much was Danny and David’s idea. I just hope that is not the case.

I am fine with identity politics and woke virtue as long as it is done right and it naturally blends in with the story and the characters have a believable arc. I do not think this fits in with Halloween very well, it just really seems like they were struggling going back to basics or the need to meet certain criteria from Blumhouse, etc… I just hope Halloween Ends bests the two movies we got from this trilogy, at least give it a decent ending.

This trilogy was OK, though the rewatch value to me isn’t there. However, I do appreciate we got more Halloween movies and we finally have one of the best Myers portrayals!

It seems like DGG’s big thing is referencing the other films. Which, on the surface is kinda cool. But the way they’ve done it in this trilogy has felt so cheap and hollow. I am a massive HIII fan but seeing the Silver Shamrock masks did absolutely nothing for me. I thought it felt forced and was more lame than anything. But here we go again in HE… he’s gotta reference H20 (garbage disposal) and HR (underground sewer). Ugh, how about come up with something a little more original and a little less focused on “WINK WINK” all the time. That’s all this trilogy has been is “wink wink.” Oh, you see that! Cool huh. You see THAT!!! Cool huh??? (I want to vomit)

One of the things in that spoiler I found weird was the part about “Michael letting Corey live.” Like, why? It makes no damn sense. After all the stuff we’ve seen in H’18 and HK, he’s suddenly going to do that?

I hope A24 or Platinum Dunes gets a crack at Halloween next. I am so freaking sick of blumhouse.

I think the overall issue here is there hasn’t been enough story to justify a three film series. Halloween Kills could easily be cropped down to little more than extended footage of H18. And what they’re doing here is just throwing sh*t against the wall to justify a reason to even have a third film. To Have Laurie’s daughter stabbed to death at the end of Kills and to suspend the story arc four years (especially with them pushing the director’s cut where she takes off after him) seems like such a leap of logic. How on earth can you end on such a horrendous note only to see Laurie has “moved on” the next time we see her? Really? The worst thing has happened that she feared after the original events of '78 and she got better even though he’s still loose? Oh brother…

Not gonna lie, if Laurie is narrating her memoirs, and Corey is the main copycat killer, and Myers only shows up in the final act for a face off with Laurie, then I’ll be pissed off.

Talk about a slap in the face, that already sounds awful.

I agree. That would be dumb

It has been said in the trailer discription, that either Laurie or Michael dies.
I somehow like the copycat killer idea, as I think this could give a chance that the franchise is moving forward for the future.
I like those Halloween movies…however Michael is now 65…I would love to see new Halloween movies in 20 years, however an 85 yr old slasher?
There are basicly only 2 options, either rebooting(which I do not like) or Michael dies and someone new will be the killer in Halloween.
To be honest…I personally like the idea to lay Michael to rest and a new killer takes over.
I actually hope that this copycat killer will be our new killer in the franchise.
some people might hate me for this comment, however this is my opinion.
Yeah, I hope the movie ends with Laurie killing Michael…and that the movie ends with showijg Corey is the new Shape for the future franchise.

Another thing I would loved to see in the future…as Halloween has anyway several timelines…I would like to see a timeline with Danielle Harris reprising her role as Jamie Lloyd.
They would have to ignore part 6 for that, but I guess it would be amazing. I could see that nowadays Jamie is married to Billy from Part 5, they have kids and actually left the past behind what happened and just living a normal life…than Michael comes back.

Well, she did say fans are going to be angry. Not looking too good at this point.

Agreed, I think people are afraid of Halloween doing something different despite th fact that Carpenter originally intended it to be an anthology series. I like the idea as long as we get our healthy dose of og myers in Ends.

Okay guys, I’m aware that what I’m about to say is a huge stretch but…

What if ENDS in the title is an acronym (Evil Never Dies)?

Think about it! It’s impossible to kill Michael Myers, as he’s “purely and simply evil.”

Yip. I mentioned this before I thought Ends stood for Evil Never Dies.

I’m not feeling very optimistic about Ends… From reading Carpenter, Curtis, and Christopher Nelson, I’ve got that the movie is a “weird departure that’s going to piss people off.” Maybe I’m being a little pessimistic. As some of you previous posters mentioned, H18 was a decent entry to the series (especially after the absolutely awful Halloween films of the last 20 years), but the Sartain angle was just bad writing. But aside from that, and a few other peeves, I left the theater pretty happy. Definitely better than the Rob Zombie movies, better than Resurrection, better than H20 (sorry if anyone disagrees). Again, it’s not a perfect movie, but it’s the best we have seen in the series for a very long time.

Halloween Kills was an absolute trainwreck of a film. If I would have saw that turd in the theater, I’d have demanded my money back. They completely abandoned the elements that make a Halloween film. They turned Michael Myers into John Wick. The movie was basically EVIL DIES TONIGHT, and see Michael, see Michael kill. Kill Michael kill. The hospital scene with the mob was also poorly written, Are the people of Haddonfield really that stupid to not know what Michael Myers looks like? I’m sure there’d be a description put out. Didn’t they show a photograph of the little short mental patient and Myers on a news broadcast while Tommy was sitting at the bar? And lest I forget to mention (as previous posters also touched on) the identity politics. Look, as a big fan of George Romero, I do like films which have an underlying message to them. Films that are more than just a splatter fest, and have some kind of subtext. But Halloween Kills hammers you over the head with it, while being little more than an action movie. It also bothers me that they brought back a lot of characters from the original movie, only to kill 3/4 of them. Why bother? For a higher body count?

Now, from what I’m hearing, this Corey Cunningham character is the main character of Ends? Why did they focus so hard in Kills and H18 to develop Allyson, only to sideline her in the new movie? Why bring back Lindsey Wallace if she’s going to be sidelined? I’ve heard I believe from DGG that this is a coming of age movie, but I don’t think he means for Allyson. I’m assuming that means for Corey Cunningham? Then you have DGG saying that this movie is like Christine, and of course the main character was named Arnie Cunningham. So what? Michael uses Corey to do his bidding, only to kill him? Or Corey goes around impersonating Myers? Lame. Granted, I have no inside knowledge, and am only reading between the lines, but this story is awful. So is the time jump. Are they going to explain what Michael has been doing for the last 4 years? It just seems like bad writing to me, all the way around.

Another thing that bothers me in general is that if Myers is so damned strong, how can Laurie always manage to go toe to toe with him? Are we to believe that a 60 something year old woman is going to be able to trade blows with an escaped mental patient that stomped someones head in like a pumpkin? Just a peeve of mine.

With all that said, I’ll definitely watch it. I want to see how DGG, McBride, and Co. will end this trilogy. With how promising the start was, it’ll be a real shame if it ENDS the way it’s looking.

I brought this up as well with the old Laurie issue, with the shot from the fight in the film, the Trauma Lee Curtis being stronger than Michael is what is a huge annoyance for me, especially from 2018, cause Jim is not only physically taller and stronger, he’s 2 years older than JLC, so Michael is older than Laurie, and yet he could snap her like a twig, but oh no, she has strong plot armour. I am sick of it, kill Laurie already, she’s not a final girl anymore, and her story is well outdated
