My opinion is it doesn’t matter if someone has been here 7 months or 7 years, a picture of an item being sold should be mandatory and a classified ad should not be posted without one
To me it’s not a matter of being trustworthy. It’s in the rules that we post pictures with the item we are selling. It’s about convenience. If you can go through the “trouble” of writing the add you can sure as hell post pics with it too. It would also make the sale quicker, because in the time it would take to get pics from the person, you could have already paid for the thing with already having seen the pics.
yeah, adds just shouldn’t be made without pics, i mean imagine a ferrari for sale without images, it might be on a bigger scale but still, people need to know what they are buying without the hastle of emailing and stuff! dren, you are 100% right!
Exactly good point buddy:)
Heres the rule When possible, add pictures to your classifieds ad. This will help prevent fraud and scams. This will also help you sell your item faster.
It says when possible so x PSYCHOPATH has a good reason for others who never post pics and can email you pics its different they should always post pics if they can.
add – verb (used with object) - to unite or join so as to increase the number, quantity, size, or importance: to add two cups of sugar; to add a postscript to her letter; to add insult to injury.
ad - noun - advertisement, advertising: an ad agency.
If I have to “Email you for Pics” than I am already going to move on and not email you for shit. If you are too lazy to put up pictures than you can suck it. I mean, seriously! Put up the pictures ONCE so you don’t have to keep sending them to people. Not only is it a RULE but it makes things easier for you. I agree with Dren on this one. If your camera doesn’t work, than don’t make a post. If I am supposed to email you for pics, than obviously your camera worked at some point or you have a camera to use.
On a side note, If you sell an item don’t just change the title of your thread to “delete”. You can not be lazy and delete it yourself. The mods already have enough on their plate. Look on the bottom of your post, there is a delete option.
I hear what you are saying Dren and it makes sense but, this is not against the rules.
The rules state that it is recommened that pictures are to be posted, to help the sale and fraud prevention as well.
In regards to this classified add, he is offering pictures by request and email. That is ok. Along with what Jay said, all this will do, is hurt the sale though. It takes more time and effort to get pictures when they can be posted right there.
This will definately turn some potential buyers away.
Thanks for your concern and NO you can’t break the rules!!!

I can’t understand how people get so bent out of shape. If you don’t like the product or the presentation of the ad, move on. It’s very simple, and it would cut down tremendously on all of the ire.
In defense of some people that do not post pictures of the products, i know on some other sites that i am a member of i dont post pics because most people see the pics and send you PM’s and they arent really even interested in the product. By not having a pic and asking buyers to email you for them weeds out all of the browsers and get serious inquiries only. That may be why blackscorpion did that as I know i have bought off of him as well and he has REALLY nice stuff. Just my opinion

The only option I have to delete is for the cookies, there used to be a white box you checked in edit to delete, it is no longer there.
Well that is one way to look at it, but I think the majority would rather have the person post the pics. You can also “add” a disclaimer that says “serious inquires only” I think people can pretty much tell if someone is a time waster and has no intention of actually buying the item. I agree that it hurts the seller when they don’t put a picture of what they have for sale in the post.
I remember the debate about it but I don’t think it was ever set in stone. I looked at the rules again and there is nothing there. Also, I think the option to delete your thread was removed due to people deleting their thread just to repost it as a new one to bump their items before the 7 day bump rule. So, I stand corrected.
I don’t understand why a seller wouldn’t want to post a picture of the item they’re selling, especially with all of the free image sites available to us today. Honestly, as a buyer, if I see an ad without a picture I just move on.
