What DON'T you like about the Halloween movies ?

I could nitpick all day long, defend my fondness for RZ’s take while still preferring JC’s (& no, I don’t wear makeup OR own a single Korn poster  ) but if I had to pick one thing about all of the Haloween movies that I don’t like it would simply be this: I’m not in nor had any hand in any of them

My biggest complaint is they see the franchise as a “cash cow” and don’t respect it nor the fans properly.

GOOD storylines would make more money AND please the fans.

As long as you have rappers kung-fu’ing Michael or white horses and “acid trips” replacing good writing it is a huge let down.

While I still enjoy the series, giving Michael “reason” for what he does makes him less scary. Making him Laurie’s brother was not that bad, but going deeper and deeper into his past and family connection is where the threads began to unravel. And don’t get me started on Zombie’s “abused childhood” explanation. :unamused:

I love how you defend you don’t wear make up or own a korn poster  made me giggle a lot. thank you for that! and i would think no different of you! :drinkers: true story!

This.

the plotline of thorn and the man in black.

Yeah, I had to friendly-frak with Sheriff Brackett, but I see the posts are gone now…so my joke makes no sense anymore   Glad I could brighten your day, halloweengirl, I’ve always loved making people laugh  :drinkers: (Though, I did wear makeup when DeVille Cinema still played RHPS in Jackson - & if I do say so myself, I made a mighty fine Frank  )

After 2 , none of the myers gave me that effect as the first two.

-For one is the mask, i really dont care for none of the masks in the other myers film. I wish that they would have stayed with the same concept, grab another mask from an actor and take it from there

-the endings, absolutely boring plus busta ryhmes? boring story lines…doesnt intereste me

-the music!!!from 3 and on…

HALLOWEEN was a landmark, epic, standard setting movie. It basically launched a whole new genre of horror film and then after the second installment the franchise was reduced to crappy, formulaic horror film making. The good writing, the good acting and mystique were largely gone, and what we were offered was film after film of sub mediocre movies. THE SHAPE himself was reduced to a second rate slasher who killed but fumbled around and got his ass handed to him. Busta Rhymes took things to an all time low. The films lost sight of the brilliance of the original.
I am thankful to Rob Zombie for at least bringing the terror, scares and brutality of Michael back into the mix.

Aside from Laurie telling Michael “You failed Michael, you want to know why? Because I’m not afraid of you!” , I hate Halloween:Resurrection.

I have to say, the only one of the films who’s music I didnt like was 5. 1 and 2 were classic. 3 had a creepy, vintage feel. 4, still dark and kept with the original. 6 was kinda cool. 7 I LOVED, a retake on the original. Even H8’s music was cool.

To me Michael Myers died in HII. What bothers me is the overuse of the white mask throughout the whole series. The stories are all off too. They really could of turned Halloween into a better series of stories like they started to do with HIII. That’d been the better route to go. JMO’s.
