Time to open up a can of worms ! We all love Halloween there’s no doubting that, but what things niggle at you and just damn right annoy you about the movies ? For me I arnt a fan of anything after H2 , for me in my head it all ended there in that room with Loomis. I just think personally the films following are dissapointing and Michael loses his edge, they seem like they decided to make more movies because everyone involveds bank accounts were getting low. I also hate the whole ’ Michael is possessed by evil , and the cult of thorn . I like to believe Michael was human just like you and I and that he was wearing some sort of bullet proof vest when he was shot by Loomis. Rant over your turn brothers !
The only thing I have a problem with is the dramatic mask changes after 2. Blood tears to number 4 mask is dramatic ! I know it opened up a huge door for us, and they are great masks from every movie but they just seem like a different person.
The whole Thorn cult that crap was so dumb, “Oh Michael kills because of Thorn.” WTF?!!, Seriously? And I also don’t like how H20 ignore 4 and 5 they should’ve left that scene in where Laurie finds out Jaime is dead.

I dislike the ENTIRE continuation problem. It’s like the Halloween films came in Saga’s! H1 and H2 were the Laurie Saga. H4 and H5 were the Jamie Saga. H3 and H6 were the WTF Saga. H7 and H8 were the Return Saga. Then, H9 and H10 were the Remake Saga. If JC wanted to go a Creepshow esque route like he did with H3, then he should have kept doing that. If not, then make H4 involve Silver Shamrock AND Myers! I, personally, LOVED H3, but HATED H6 (I do love the mask though). The whole cult thing was pretty “out there”. You might as well have put Michael in space!
H8 was a complete fail. They started the film out with a cool premise. Then, after 15 minutes, the audience was left disappointed. I feel like what the producers did was use the opening of the film as a way to close out the Laurie character, then force feed us the rest of the film as a way to make us feel like we paid for a movie, not just closure. I think that many of the fan films out there were even better than H8. This is all my opinion, and we all know that opinions can invoke great debates, but I HAVE SPOKEN!

H-2 : Mr. Garret’s sequence ----> much too long & boring, but the kill is great!!

H-6 : Thorn theme & Barry Simms.
H20 : The mask(s). More H-1/H-2 like would be cool.
HR : Busta Rhymes, Busta Rhymes & Busta Rhymes!!! & all the other actors except Jamie Lee & Brad.

H3 … I kinda like it because it’s a non-sequiter oddity in time and Tom Atkins is from my hometown and is REALLY a gracious guy
H4 … I’m glad he came back after 3, but not just the same … I missed the sadness about him! Carpenter was able to find the balance of mystery, horror, and unseen empathy! Cute kid! HATED that Laurie died!
H5 … Indistinguishable to me! Lacked discriminative characters, cute kid! Crap ending!
H6 … The Thorn Cult Crap!
H7 … The characters were all a little too 90201 for me!
H8 … Pushed, inane, and grasping for straws! Tyra.
H9 … liked it (although, I still think Castle was much more interesting)! Disliked the timelessness of the storyline, felt too Roseanne-like for grit-sake. Some of the dialogue was completely trite in its “trying to be real and edgy!”
H10 … Disliked the psychedelic mommy issues coming to balletic life in fog-laden, horse-laden, dreaminess terms of blerg! Great lighting though! Saw way too much (NOTHING was left to the imagination)! LOVED the silence of Sheriff Brackett finding Annie scene! Dourif is a FANTASTIC ACTOR!

This next thing is not something I hate about a part of a “Halloween” movie but I hate how people think that Season of the Witch (i will not call it H3) is a Halloween movie … It is not. The movie is good, but a Halloween movie IT IS NOT.
There are things in all the movies i dislike, however the only other thing I can say I “hate” about the movies, I have two words:

I don’t like that John Carpenter and Debra Hill were basically forced into doing H2. The lack of care that went into that film (when compared to the original anyway) is sad. It’s not the worst film in the series, but it’s the one that’s the most disappointing.

No continuation of the anthology idea that was started with H3. I think that would have given us a “fresher” series and one that we could still obsess over just as much as the one we have now. It was a great idea that just happened to be ahead of its time.

Studio interference. Dimension have only put out two Halloween films that I can say I don’t care for (H6 and Resurrection), but the fact that they have meddled in all of them in some way has either ruined those films or prevented them from reaching their full potential. They need to trust the filmmakers they hire instead of acting like they know best, because they’re pretty much clueless.
Alright… here comes my opinions: ahem…
H1- Love it. Dark, mysterious… amazing and artistically done.
H2- First one I saw… scared the crap out of me, so it did it’s job. Loved it. Gore was more but to be expected.
H3- Own but have yet to see.
H4- I like the story line of how he goes after Jamie now. But, here it goes… the mask I have learned to like, even love bc of it’s uniqueness… but when I first saw it… I laughed at the mask. It had a Michael Jackson look to it when he sits up next to Jamie’s bed! Idk where that came from but it did!
H5- The story of Jamie should have ended there. It was a story of teenagers wanting to get laid and Michael just trying to find Jamie amongst all the sexual tension. The mask from five is my least favorite. It looks paper ma-shade in certain scenes.
H6- The mask is cool. I didn’t care for it at first but learned to love it. The story line was choppy and confusing. Thorn… that’s just bringing in supernatural stuff that didn’t need to be there. Why couldn’t Michael just be a deranged human??
H20- I like that Laurie is back. I loved the mask. I like that he finds her even though she is across the country. I think it was an ok film… portraying the 90’s perfectly.
Resurrection- I have no desire to watch the movie again. The mask is ok but is not blank enough. The story line sucks and is choppy again. Busta Rhymes and Tyra Banks? No thank you! Over all… dumb ass movie, killing the original series. It should have been a 10 min. film and ended with him killing Laurie. Bc then it would be like oh god, where is he now? He killed her… who is he after next? Should have been left there.
Zombies remakes- too gory, too much foul language for my taste, and disturbing. I liked not knowing who Myers was.
H1-Love it,can’t find nothing wrong with it.
H2-Nothing bad comes to mind.
H3-No Myers,Still LOVE IT!!
H4-Many masks…LOVE UM ALL!
H5-PEOPLE ALWAYS TALKING SH*T ABOUT IT,AND GIVING IT HELL!!!ITS GREAT NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS!!Only problem i have with it is Rachel’s death…too soon i think.Other than that gold and just as good as others in my opinion.
H6-Paul Rudd as Tommy Doyle(just not believable)
H2O-Them ignoring the previous 3 sequels and went back to the first 2.But hey its exceptional.
H:R-Busta Rhyms,Mask,Tyra Banks,Laurie dying,Most of the whole camera idea…But i still recognize it.
RZ H1-Way too much with young Mikey(i mean we aren’t idiots even with about 5 min of showings of him in smiths grove we could get an idea of what all happened) i mean SHEESH!!And Linda not having pig tails in her hair its just kind of a trade mark for her in the original.Everything else i liked.
RZ H2-Ugh were do i begin…Maybe Michael Yelling every time he kills someone.Loomis being a complete A** throughout the film.Loomis dying in both the endings and Michael getting brutally killed in the theatrical ending.The list goes on and on but i still watch it and i like it and i love the Rocky Horror Picture Show costume usage in the film(well done Rob trying to cover it up NOT! LOL )
