I saw this from a friend of mine on HorrorBid, and i figured i would share this with you here.
Basically he reviews what the rough draft of the script was, and this is the ORIGINAL script before any touch ups or re writes. However, i found it to be VERY interesting and i think could have made a good movie. It needs some fine tuning, but thats why its a rough draft. Check this out, and let me know what you think! I for one would have loved to see this, and My Bloody Valentine 3D was one of the most fun horror movies i sat through with their use of the 3D technology
I really wasn’t impressed with what was being described. Obviously I’m one of those people who thinks Zombie’s story was over when Laurie died at the end of the director’s cut of Halloween II, so I’m somewhat biased, but if there HAD to be a sequel, I would have had Brackett be the focus (instead of killing him off like a throwaway character). Michael returns and stalks some new blood while Brackett assumes the Loomis role and tries to prevent what he couldn’t prevent in the first two films.
It’s obvious that Lussier and Farmer were more interested in making a film that was more in line with their remake of My Bloody Valentine, but that style just doesn’t mesh with the world that Zombie created. If people thought Zombie’s style didn’t mesh with Halloween before, imagine Zombie’s style+Lussier/Farmer’s style+more shoehorned Carpenter style. No thanks.
Ok, im a huge Halloween fan and some of this script sounds great for a first draft, I particularly like the ‘Burning mask scene’ and the shop scene in which he gets a new mask they could definatly make this like like a ‘traditional halloween’ scene perhaps similar to h4 where he gets his new mask.
however I HATE the laurie turning evil story just sounds awful.
New characters are needed and keep sherrif.B! and perhaps find a way to have loomis survive
Right, like i posted up top…it was the FIRST draft. Of course things were going to be tweaked. However, i think for what it is, it would have been a fun movie. Basically, after what Rob Zombie did with H2 you might need to go in that direction. That movie took itself too seriously, in all the wrong ways for me.
But Dannyw953 please for the love of all things Myers DO NOT BRING BACK LOOMIS! He should have died in the FIRST one when Michael crushed his damn skull. Can you tell me why he was in part 2? He didnt have any key scenes in the movie, and then just pops up at the shack to save the day -__- No
I agree H2 made him look terrible but I think he could still do a lot for the movie if they develop his character and make him similar to the original loomis, also I know its a first draft I was just stating a few things I think could be chnaged to make it better i.e laurie, however In all fairness MY opinion would do a sequel/ remake kind of thing, remake h4 have it take place however many years after h2 and make it more like the originals however it still being a sequel to h2 as a complete remake would drain the fans. I do love the whole thought of him getting a clean mask again etc.
Danny - My comments about tweaking the script wasnt for you, but to everyone saying how horrible it was. Im sure they could redeem Loomis…but i was surprised to see he survived part one…and i dunno if they could let him survive part two LoL he was stabbed multiple times =p I mean he must be a “G” to survive that LoL
Oh lol! My bad dude sorry, the script itself does sound good, like you said after tweaks could definitely do justice to rz’s H1, and I just feel loomis was such a big character for the originals and feel he has a lot of potential
