As we know the og TOTS H6 had a very different hair for the mask when first released til around 2016-ish and I was wondering why did they change it? Also how and where did they get that specific hair? That was the best hair any mask had. Did they make it themselves? Is it possible for us to even obtain it the same way?
I wish I knew, but I’ve been saying this since they changed it. I don’t understand it personally, that hair was PERFECT that was on the first run of the H6 masks. I’m glad I still have my first run mask.

Nah this is the reissue, the original hair was brown and really different is texture and the way you could style it, I’ll try to find pics and a vid to show you!
It makes me wanna go back and time and stock up on a few tbh im so mad at this change

Oh wow! I had no idea! I kinda like both, actually. I think in certain shots it looks kinda “furry” like the newer version. The texture of the hair on yours is awesome, though! Now I want one lol
I guess mine (the houses) is more grungy than I thought. I don’t remember how it looked when I first wore it. Pretty sure most of that is dirt and black eye makeup that got on my hands ect.
The paint job on the first run masks is also completely different. The whole production of the mask changed after the first run.

Yeah the new paint is better than the old but the hair is far superior, might as well rehaul an old one to be movie accurate af
I always said that if they took the current form of the mask and used that hair from the first run, it would be perfect. It wouldn’t even need rehauled if that were the case.

Honestly, with all the known fandom, especially since Fans like a Justin are there and not just mindless corporate guys that run most companies, I’m surprised ToTs doesn’t start making Deluxe or “Collectors Edition” Myers masks with better quality hair and paints. Somewhere inbetween retail and custom. Maybe at a $120-150 price point.
