What mask disappointed you?

As the title says: what mask were you really looking forward to seeing/buying, but the end result kinda let you down?

This thread is NOT intended to bash any artist or their work. So please keep it nice and civil.

I haven’t bought enough to have a hug contribution.m, but I was pretty disappointed in my copy when I got my Boogeyman. I didn’t have high hopes and was planning on re-painting it anyways so it wasn’t a huge deal.

The 2nd Stab. I owned one & though it looked cool from the front, the profile absolutely killed it for me

JTK from Chris Morgan. The finish was really nice but the sculpt was way off. It was obviously retooled from another sculpt. Badly at that.

I’ve owned two Creeps and although I know for many the Creep accurately reflects how they picture the shape, I was underwhelmed by both copies I owned. Both were nicely finished by Justin, but I found the sculpt itself to be lacking features and detail and the eye cuts on both were too round and too big. The hair didn’t do either mask any favors either. Even with dramatic lighting and carefully accurate stuffing, I just didn’t feel it with either mask.

I’ve owned a 2019 and 2010 creep, and let me tell you, they both look so different. The 2010 creep and 2011 are the golden years imo.

Exactly! Your 2019 looks just like my 2018 and 2019 copies did. The 2010 almost looks like a completely different mask to me, with so much more detail. Still not a huge fan of Justin’s eye cuts then or now, but definitely prefer the 2010! Great mask.

The TOTS H1. Loved how the proto looked, and ordered it the minute it went up for sale, but I was so disappointed with how it looked when it arrived, I turned around and sold it right away. The latex was stiff as a board, the mask just didn’t look right, the hair was too poofy and I couldn’t get it to style right. Not to mention it seemed to have been made for a 25 inch head.

Sinister Studios S 75 (c). Was beyond disappointing when I opened the box. Not bashing, but it did not look anything like it did in the pic that was advertised. Hair was super matted/sprayed down (similar to the CGP), and something about the paint just seemed off. Put it back in the box that day and went up on ebay a few days later. So far, that’s the only purchase I’ve made that really bummed me out.

Couldn’t agree more.
