The line was actually “It was the boogeyman”

The way JLC said it was kinda hard to make out. She ran her words together.

It’s the Boogeyman. Cool setup

I always took it she said “What’s the boogeyman?” Most likely flubbed her line and with the budget they where on left it in instead of reshooting

The line in the script is “was that the boogeyman?” This was either changed or done incorrectly as “it was the boogeyman!” I would guess this was intentionally changed by someone and not a mistake. The latter is more powerful. However in Rob’s defense, the line “what’s the boogeyman?” is in the film, spoken by Tommy Doyle: “Laurie, what’s the boogeyman?”

Yes I know Tommy asked Laurie “What’s the boogeyman?” And she asked Loomis the same question after he shoots Myers.

I always thought she said “wasit the boogeyman” I thought she added the words “was it” together and it sounded like “wasit”

Lmaoo. Guys sorry I’m just making up lines. Jamie Lee line is what’s the boogeyman. I made my own statement saying. As a matter of fact this is!!! This was my line. The movie Sam l says. As a matter of fact it was!!!

She definitely says “it was the boogeyman.” You just can’t clearly hear her say “it” and she emphasizes “was.”

This is what I’ve always heard & thought too. No matter what the subtitles or script says. It also makes his reply make total sense

Definitely, and it always seemed realistic to me how she says it, considering people don’t always articulate every word perfectly. Especially if she was just fighting for her life. :drinkers:
