It has the scene of death company logo stamped into the back and when I bought it, it was listed as the proto for their h4. From what I understand this is the only one of that h4 to ever be made. I’ve seen recasts of other SOD masks and they don’t have any of the company’s logos on them.
If you understand the word recast enough to use it in the manner that you used it in above, why would you have even asked the question below?
I’ll be done here because I don’t want to derail your thread. That mask has some striking similarities to other H4 masks and I am curious as to how whoever it is that operates Scene of Death created that mask (which is why I asked the original question that I did).
As far as value, I’m sorry, I have no idea what kind of value it might carry as in the past 10+ years I personally have never heard of a company named Scene of Death until today. My guess would be the $100-$200 range…
Woah dude… chill. Didn’t know what you meant at first. My bad. You explained and I used it in the context you were referring to.
And yeah it is similiar, but the thing that separates it from the others to me peronsally, is that it’s absolutely huge. If I put it on I look like the young michael when he first wears the mask in RZ’S remake lol. And maybe “company” wasn’t the right term to use, I apologize. From what I have seen of their work it is pretty well done.
Something like that I would guess $100-200 like Luthor said. The only way to know though is put it up for sale and see. I’d be a bit surprised if it fetched $200 though. Closer to $100 I’d say. That’s being optimistic too.
It looks pretty good, but you have to think about some comparisons to get an idea of what it’s worth…which H4 was it on eBay recently that went for like a little under $200 or so? I was watching it anyway, and that was a better H4 than this by a fair bit…
Looks a lot like a recast of the HSS 4 to me, but they fixed the nose on it, so maybe they tweaked some details? just my thoughts, judging from the pictures
Well the reason I don’t feel it’s a recast is the size. A 23.5 to 24 inch mask fits me tightly. And this thing, I can literally spin around my head without any trouble. And it touches my shoulders so much that it bends. So if it is a recast they stretched the hell out of it.
