These are great threads…another good one, Benny!
H1 - The day to night transition is the biggest bother I’ve had for this movie. Secondly, the 15 second romp sessions at the beginning, and with Bob and Lynda. Other than that, the original film is, in my eyes, pitch perfect.
H2 - The seven-shot mess-up (although fixed for the TV versions) and Alice’s un-needed scene at the beginning. Also, I wished Laurie would have been a bit more “present” in the film, although I do like the idea of her being drugged up, creating a larger obstacle for her to overcome.
H3 - At first it was the story-line, that didn’t have Myers in it. But I’m not too fond of Stonehenge and the logic surrounding different time-zones around the world.
H4 - Michael’s hulkiness and hockey pads and wiping out an entire police station. How? Also, ain’t he blind? And the mask was a bit disappointing when I first viewed this movie. Also, the music didn’t seem to be up to par with the first two films, although it has grown on me significantly throughout the the years.
H5 - One word. Billy. That kid pissed me off, and the fact that Jamie couldn’t speak. LAME. And of course, the introduction of the Man in Black. Double LAME. And the mask…This is where he problems really started for the franchise.
H6 - Killing off Jamie. That was stupid. Why couldn’t it have been her and Tommy and Loomis ganging up to take on Myers? And the Thorn plot, in both versions, was never properly explained. They threw it in there, and then decided to kinda let it just linger in the background. And of course, the mass murder in the operating room. What the hell were clinical psychologists doing operating on people? Made absolutely no sense.
H20 - Setting it in California, the absence of Howarth’s electronic music (although I always wanted to hear an orchestral version of the Halloween theme), and the biggest problem…No Loomis.
Resurrection - Killing Laurie within 10 minutes of the movie’s opening, rendering the rest of this one pointless.
RZ/H1 - ASide from MOST of this movie rubbing me the wrong way, I think it was a colossal mistake to have michael talk after his first kill. He should have been mute from then on, and it would have been creepy.
Rz/H2 - the thing I like least about this movie is the fact that it was made.
