What's a positive thing you can say about each movie?

Halloween 1978 - Nick Castle’s Michael is the perfect version of the character. His movements are a mixture of animal and human qualities.

Halloween II 1981 - The sister reveal was a great addition to the lore, and helped to continue the storyline.

Halloween III - It had a really cool concept with the killer Halloween masks.

Halloween 4 - It had a haunting ending.

Halloween 5 - It had some great suspense during Rachel’s death.

Halloween 6 - Jamie’s death shows just how much of a sadist Michael is.

Halloween H20 - It had an amazing ending that should’ve stayed final.

Halloween 2007 - Unpopular opinion, I really liked Sheri Moon Zombie as Michael’s mother. I thought she did a good job in it.

Halloween II 2009 - I really liked Laurie’s character in the theatrical cut.

Halloween Resurrection - I like the look of the Myers house.

Halloween 2018 - Vicky was a great character, and she should’ve had Allyson’s role.

Halloween Kills - I really liked some of the score towards the beginning.

Halloween Ends - It had good gore effects.

Halloween 2 happening on the same night is the best thing and in a hospital, the sister thing was a stupid idea

Halloween II (1981 & 2009) - They end.

This!

Halloween 1978- perfect film. Amazing atmosphere and build up of dread. Nick castle is awesome as the shape.

H2- mask looks great

H3- very original and cool plot

H4- opening credits are very spooky. Enjoyed the bandaged look.
H5- opening credits are cool, the Laundry chute scene.
H6- the massacre in the operating theatre, the atmosphere is very well done

H20- enjoyed the portryal of Laurie with her trauma. Nostalgia vibes with this movie for me.

Resurrection- setting the film in the myers house was a cool idea.

Rz1- never seen it
Rz2- never seen it

Halloween 2018- reignited my passion for the character of Michael. Strips the franchise back to its roots and gets back to the original intent of the character. Very brutal, intimidating and scary myers with James Jude Courtney’s portrayal. The return of jamie lee curtis. Amazing mask.

Halloween Kills- a very pissed off michael, awesome cinematography, epic soundtrack.

Halloween Ends- great retro look and cinematography. Very eerie mask, interesting concept about the spread of evil. Unique film.

Halloween ends just copied H4 for the spread of evil, so it’s nothing unique, just different execution

Halloween 1978 - It’s the OG masterpiece that started it all, I mean come on, everything about it is great!

Halloween II 1981 - It was a great sequel (sequels are hard) that caught the same essence and feeling from the first movie

Halloween III - It was a great and original standalone scary movie/story

Halloween 4 - That ending is a fantastic shock moment, leaves you completely rattled, and ends the movie on such a high note

Halloween 5 - The lore explored surrounding Michael and Loomis is really interesting

Halloween 6 - Jamie’s shocking death right in the beginning is a GREAT hook

Halloween H20 - “It had an amazing ending that should’ve stayed final.” < Not changing/arguing that

Halloween 2007 - It was a great reimagining of the OG movie, and it really turned Michael into this beast of a classic horror “monster”

Halloween II 2009 - Michael’s unlikely revival was interesting to see in the beginning

Halloween Resurrection - Busta Rhymes was absolutely hilarious

Halloween 2018 - An awesome reboot of the franchise that stayed true to the roots of the OG movie

Halloween Kills - The kills were absolutely BRUTAL, Michael’s escape from the fire trap was absolutely insane, and the flashbacks were amazing

Halloween Ends - It was an awesome breakaway from formula that ultimately worked in its favor, to be an original and totally shocking story that really makes the lore interesting

1978 - A classic.

II - The hospital setting is fantastic.

III - Great, incentive storyline

IV - Incredible ending sequence.

V - The laundry sequence is fantastic, among the best of the franchise.

VI - Incredible atmosphere.

H20 - The ending was perfer.

Resurrection - The set design was great.

2007 - Great score.

2009 - Dream sequences were cool.

2018 - Fantastic screenplay with some nice references to the originals.

Kills - Amazing kills.

Ends - Clever plot.

Halloween - the omnipresent classic!

Halloween II - some great kills in this one

Halloween III - I love the masks!

Halloween 4 - perfect 80s slasher flare.

Halloween 5 - the rural Gothic tone is fairly unique and well done

Halloween 6 - great Autumn feeling in this one.

H20 - the opening to the film is great

Halloween Resurrection - the set design for the Myers house was on point.

Rob Zombie’s Halloween: The costume work and fall tones were fantastic

Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 - The non-original scores were good.

Halloween (2018) - loved how brutal Michael is in this one.

Halloween Kills - Michael’s even more brutal, and there’s some great call backs

Halloween Ends - the score went hard, and the characterizations were well done.

Halloween 1978: The introduction of The Shape to the world, changed horror for the better and made it what it is today. Nick Castle, the OG, co-created one of the most iconic slashers ever, just because he was John’s friend and was there to get inspiration for when he directed his first film.

Halloween 1981: Introduced a Shape that was just as awesome as the original, with his own tricks and awesome Kills mixed in.

Halloween 3 Season of the Witch: Brought forward a new story that could’ve honestly brought a Cool Anthology Movie each year. Loved the effects, the masks and the music

Halloween 4: Much as the mask was goofy, Michael was still badass in this film. Did enjoy the plot with Michael’s niece and Danielle Harris was awesome as Jamie.

Halloween 5: Gothic type Myers, with Loomis pre well loosing his shit. Did enjoy Shanks’ portrayal as Myers, he was a scary Shape.

Halloween 6: IDK, it had a funny looking mask and Paul Rudd, what more could we ask for?

H20: Brought back Jamie Lee after all those years, introduced a badass location for Myers to go nuts in.

Halloween Resurrection: This one just kinda sucks. Myers house looked cool tho.

Rob Zombie H1 and H2: Putting these together cause I’m kinda iffy with this, but Tyler Mane as Michael was the best parts of both films. One of the scariest representations of Michael, plus did enjoy the Kills.

Halloween 2018: Brought back Michael after years, one of my favourite looks of Michael ever (Thank you Chris Nelson), the story and part humor was really good, loved the various ways DDG brought The Shape into the 21st century.

Halloween Kills: My favourite look for Michael (the burnt mask), James Jude Courtney’s Shape was perfect in executing Kills, being brutal and cruel. Loved how they brought back Loomis in the flashback, loved the 1978 Flashback mask and the Myers house in both 1978 and 2018.

Halloween Ends: Loved the Scarecrow mask and Michael’s moldy look, locations were on point, gore effects were awesome. The score was probably the best outta the 3. As much as people hate it, I have an appreciation for the film trying to do something different with Corey’s character.

I’m gonna be super annoying and list a few positives for each if possible

H1- Lol, everyone knows this one is kino

H2- Love the score, great Cundey cinematography and atmosphere.

H3- Bit biased since this one is my personal favorite but love Colonel Cochran, the story, the tying of Halloween with ancient and modern conventions, the score is amazing, the look and vibes of the movie are super on point and it’s the most “Halloween” Halloween to me.

H4- Love Rachel and Jamie, very smart characters to root for in a slasher film. The Buildup of Michael and his cunning prowess makes him feel like he is a force of nature. And, again, excellent score.

H5- Howarth’s moody score helps a lot, the final act involving the laundry chute and the attic were not only tense but well done. Jamie and Loomis are again, highlights. Don Shanks does a solid job as Myers even though I’m not a fan of “bulky” Mikey.

H6 (Theatrical)- Well, Michael was truly at his most brutal in the reshoots. The updated renditions by Alan Howarth that DID make the cut are good, but his rescore for the reshoots being left out of the final film are also good.

H6 (Producer’s)- Last great score til 2018, Howarth’s swan song OST is excellent and atmospheric. The film has an excellent fall/Halloween atmosphere and is much more soundly put together than H5, despite the troubled production. Likeable leads and one last great Loomis performance.

H20- A good return to form for story mostly, Laurie is great and it’s fast paced. Fun if slapsticky final battle.

Resurrection- I think Michael’s body switch, while contrived and doesn’t 100% gel-well with stuff we saw in H20 fully, is probably the most clever survival explanation (is it any worse that he survived a FULL BODY INCINERATION or sleeping on a hermit’s slab for a WHOLE YEAR), also Brad Loree is a good Mikey. Also great Myers house replication.

RZH1- Returning to more serious and violent horror re-establish Michael as a scary killer in a meta context, also it’s got a great Halloween atmosphere and is shot and directed very well mostly. I dislike this movie but it’s nostalgic since it reminds me of my youth around that era, very comfy.

RZH2- More unique and creative, beautifully shot for such a rushed and troubled production and I like that it dwells on a darker “Final Girl” trope story. It’s my favorite of the RZ movies, very spooky and also kinda nostalgic.

2018- The actual true return to form in a lot of ways, excellent JLC performance, great directing and staging of scenes. Michael is at his best since the OG and the score is phenomenal. All around a great thrill ride that combines the best of the sequels into a great package.

Kills- Still looks excellent with a great score, Kills Michael is my favorite Myers design and it’s a pretty brutal and heart wrenching flick. I think dwelling on ideas presented in H2 and H4 with Haddonfield reacting to Micahel is a great idea if a bit goofy at times. Really shows that normal people who think they are badasses getting comeuppance in the face of evil is kinda a realistic situation but it’s no Prisoners lmao

Ends- My favorite score of the trilogy and maybe my favorite score to the franchise. It’s darker and less jokey which I like and the passing of evil, an idea explored in the Halloween novelization, H4, H6 and several unmade scripts is great! I really liked how melancholy the movie was and fittingly Ended this timeline and the series meta, because the trilogy took ideas from other movies and expanded on them as a love letter, but those ideas are divisive so I see why they were divisive movies.

I used to be a guy who hated some of these movies but really, I don’t hate any of them. I like others more than some but I just come to realize recently I love almost all these movies for existing because they helped shaped me as a thorough fan. They can be goofy, silly, downright stupid but, you know, it’s like a friend to me.

Halloween (1978) - Not much to say other than the perfect film

Halloween II (1981) - The score is amazing (better than the original IMO)

Halloween III - The Phoenix, Arizona shot is one of my favourite of the entire series

Halloween 4 - The opening montage with Alan Howarth’s music sets the tone beautifully

Halloween 5 - The Shape lurking and stalking scenes are some of the best and creepiest of the series

Halloween 6 - Dripping in atmosphere. Not been matched since.

Halloween H20 - The opening scene was very strong

Halloween Resurrection - The Myers house was very well done

Don’t really have much of an opinion on the others.
