One of the things I hated about H18 was that MM was walking around holding the knife in his left hand, and now seeing some pics from the new movie, he’s still using his left hand lol. I know I’m just nit-picking, but I hate seeing a left handed Michael Myers

I’ve noticed that too. I do think it was a mistake to blow off those digits.
I thought the only time he used his left hand in 2018 was during the one take scene? Plus, I doubt Myers is going to be using his left hand this movie, since he lost two fingers.
I think he’s just ambidextrous. Only really recall him using his left hand in the one take scene as well. Could be because if he grabbed the hammer with his right it would block the camera’s view of him picking it up.
Well he usually just holds it in his left hand in certain situations, but when he’s actually killing it’s the right hand. He did it in the original Halloween as well, held with his left hand in the scene breaking through the door, but switched to the right shortly after. I wouldn’t read too much into it, the Boogeyman is not restricted to lefty or righty, it’s just whatever works lol.
I think it has more to do with the angles they’re shooting as others have stated. The shape being ambidextrous wouldn’t be too far fetched either really though. Not to mention only fans of a certain caliber would notice a small trait like that, casual fans for the most part wouldn’t even notice. Is JJC a lefty? Could be as simple as that, but if not I would assume it’s all about capturing the shot better by changing the hand that is wielding the weapon in the scene.
It’s mostly a camera trick so they can show the profile/silhouette of the weapon, so like when he picks up the hammer, it’s on the workbench on the left, and if you picked it up, the arm would block most of the shot, and if you shoot it from the left shoulder, the camera would only show Michael pulling the hammer out from behind the wall
I believe it’s because JJC is actually left handed. In H18, I think he grabs the hammer with his left before attacking the Ms. Elrod lookalike.
A switch slasher if you will.
I’d agree it’d fit if he were equally adept with either hand.
Someone else told me the same thing. He said JJC is actually left handed in real life.
He’s just supposed to be pure evil. He’ll get you with his left or right hand. Maybe even his left or right foot if he has to hahaha
