As the title asks, where was Michael going right after he killed his sister Judith in H1 (1978)? I know there are probably no solid answers for this, but does anyone have any theories? Right after he kills her, he walks down the stairs and out the front door. He walks onto the front lawn, and is suddenly stopped by his parents. Where could he have been going?
I always thought he was going outside to wait for his parents to show up. Luckily for him, they showed up as soon as he went outside
Trick or treating
This is long but worth it…
I have thought about this once and I came up with a wonderful theory to the story… This raises another question… that raises a possible answer…
Where did Michael come from in the beginning? He was already outside the house. Because of this fact, I suspect the clever young Michael Myers was known by his parents and sister to be trick or treating somewhere around the neighborhood, but actually was waiting close by, to murder Judith.
Michael’s plan was to come home long after his parents left so he could murder Judith. He however did not expect Judith’s boyfriend to be over… Due to this Michael had to wait for him to leave… this fact very well stopped Michael from a possible future bloodbath…
After Michael finally killed his sister, he tried to leave the house to return “trick or treating”, making his sister’s death a mystery (that most likely would have been blamed on Judith’s boyfriend in the end). Michael is however caught by his parents as he is leaving the house.
If Michael had the opportunity to walk right in and kill Judith, he could have escaped. Possibly leading to the death of Michael’s parents at his hand, when he reached an older age. Judith’s boyfriend possibly changed the entire story of Halloween to how we now know it, by simply showing up for some fun with Judith.
Anyone else like that theory? Obviously a 6 year old couldn’t be so elaborate… but then again, nobody knows what drives the Shape to do what he does… even to drive a car without any lessons… let me know what you think? Can we change anything?
I always thought maybe Michael was going too kill his friends after butchering Judith, If he had any…
It’s a wonder he didn’t try too attack his Mother when she confronted him and removed his mask. You think she would have taken the knife away from him first…
That’s a great theory man!
That is a good theory!
Excellent observations everyone! Well if you go by the cult of thorn timeline then dr. Wynn probably ordered him to wait for his parents after telling him to kill Judith. In the others, then he most likely was going to kill someone else or go trick or treating. The 78 Halloween novel actually gives insight on why Michael might have done that is explained by his grandmother saying that his great-grandfather did a similar thing like that a long time ago.
This is what I’m going with. It’s chilling to think that was his idea. Great theory!
I’d love to see some sort of film or comic that would show what happened if Judith Myers killer was never caught. Would Michael still act mute and “catatonic?”
I like the theory, but in all honesty I think Michael wanted to get caught
Anyone have copies or pdf of the original Halloween novel??
I do, directly after the murder is says:
"The gory little figure turned and stepped over the fallen furniture and scattered clothing and walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. Suddenly he realized he was hungry. He reached into a bowl on the kitchen counter and stuffed a cookie into his mouth, then opened the refrigerator door and removed a bottle of milk. He emptied half of it into his mouth directly from the bottle and wiped his mouth with his bloody sleeve, leaving a streak of red and white across his cheek.
He opened the side door and went outside, still carrying the butcher knife. He stepped out onto the lawn and stood there for a minute indecisively.
At that moment a dark sedan pulled up to the curb. The assassin made no attempt to flee, but stood on the lawn waiting for the occupants of the car to get out. After a moment both front doors opened and a man and woman emerged. They took two ro three paces toward the house, then saw him and stopped, staring at the figure in the bloodstained clown costume with a blood-clotted knife in his hand.
The man reached out and removed the mask from the boy’s face.
‘Michael…?’"
