If they bring the character back I hope like hell it isn’t McDowell.
Some good choices… however all of them that were listed are high end actors some with academy award feathers in thier cap. I highly doubt that they would except a roll like Loomis in a low budget horror film. Don’t get me wrong… I love HalloweeN franchise, but really don’t these would even consider looking at the script.

I thought Malcolm McDowell did a fine job too. It was just a different twist on the character. Rob obviously wrote the part differently and didn’t want his actor to imitate Donald Pleasence nor would any self respecting actor want to simply do an imitation of another.
To get back on topic I’m not sure I would bring Loomis back again. I think it would be great to start with some fresh supporting characters that future sequels can be built around.

I think McDowell did about as well as he could, given the awful dialogue zombie writes.
Think Jeff Bridges or William hurt could do a great job as Loomis

Considering his various well played roles, I could easily see him playing an exceptional Dr. Loomis. Plus, he looked the part in Iron Man:

Oh I know, lol but ever since I first seen the Big Lebowski in theaters …all I see in Jeff Bridges is the Dude !!! LOL
Bridges was epic in BL. Such a versatile actor…I think he could bring us a real dark Loomis
Not to get off topic, but that scene where he’s driving around listening to CCR and drops his roach then wrecks the car kills me every time
I thought Mcdowell was one of the bright spots in the zombie remakes, not only in terms of acting but story telling.

I always thought Terry O’Quinn would do an excellent job as say Dr. Loomis’ brother, so he could play Loomis as well. We’ve already seen hoim bald with a goatee and moustache combo and he looks enough like Pleasence, plus he’s an excellent actor with experience in similar roles (Millennium for one).
MM didn’t have enough depth or power to ignite the screen like DP imo. There was nothing captivating or powerful about him in the slightest.
Also the script was just s***…I didn’t sympathize, like or relate to his character at all. I was watching at times thinking “I’m sure I should care if you survive or stop myers”…I just didn’t.
In part 2 he was an insufferable p****, even more annoying. I know the writing of his character was to blame but he just wasn’t a big enough actor to fill the screen imo.
