who could play dr. loomis ? Malcolm McDowell was horrible

ok so let me say this first there will never be any one as good as Donald Pleasence he was born to play that part. when i saw the remake i was horrified by Malcolm McDowell performance. who do you think could play the part ? one person i think would be good at the part is Sir Ian McKellen

I personally think Brian Cox would be a Perfect Dr. Loomis. He played one hell of a Dr.Hannibal Lecter! :smiley:

I think Mcdowell is a great actor and did just fine as Loomis.
For a new Loomis only guy i can think of is Atkins. He already has ties to the series and is better than everyone at anything in life.

Sir Ben Kingsley would do an awesome job as Loomis. He even resembles Pleasance

Christopher Lee. The guy did say not playing Loomis was the biggest regret in his acting career.

If he were alive… Telly Savalas… He was a bad @ss that’d make a perfect Dr. Loomis.

I agree with Chad, I think Mcdowell did great as Loomis, especially the first RZ. The 2nd they changed his character for the worse and made him kind of a scumbag. But he’s etched as Loomis in my memory as RZ’s Loomis.

Yea they did change him alot. And i often hear people criticize him for his role in h2. Wasnt his fault tho. As an actor he was just doing it as it was written.

The character Dr. Loomis should have been retired if for nothing else, as a tribute to Donald Pleasance. It would have been a great hats off to him that I think everyone could appreciate. They’d have no problem introducing a new doctor type character with similar traits and would keep some more aspects of the story fresh and updated.

Obviously you’ll never better donald pleasence… However Bryan Cranston would be awesome!! One of the best actors around in my opinion… Anyone who’s watched breaking bad will agree with me when I say he could definitely pull it off!
