I agree with you 100 percent bro!! The head tilt became somewhat of Michael Myer’s trademark thanks to Nick Castle. Another reason why I liked Nick Castle’s portrayal was because of the staircase scene. I always found it really creepy how Nick Castle’s Michael Myers walked downstairs in the chase scene. That creepiness and walk I feel is hard to replicate. I think Dick Warlock’s performance was the closest to having that mystique the original did.
So many ppl credit NICK CASTLE because he is the original Shape . What’s so iconic in the film that other people did ? Tommy Lee is established already we all know what he did and ALWAYS gets credit , what 5 foort debra hill standing across the street ? Jim wilburn falling off the balcony? Tony Moran getting a stunt mask taken off his face ?what iconic scenes are u talking about? Aside from the closet scene and breaking into the kitchen , we have the school yard scene, hedge scene , climbing on top of car in the rain scene, laundry clothes line scene, backseat in car annie death scene , the iconic walking across the street scene that is always talked about with the leaves blowing and the inventor of the head tilt. That’s all Castle .That’s tthe reasons why he gets the credit. Tyler Mane SUCKED and The Rob Zombie movies SUCK and aren’t even relevant there’s a reason those movies BOMBED and zombie went quietly back in the weeds but that’s another topic . 
To be honest Nick Castle’s performance is my all time favourite because of the overall motioning and character development. The mystique and creepiness from the original had simplicity scares that wasn’t over-done and you didn’t expect them. With a lot of the new movies that re-made Halloween, I feel they took away the mysteriousness and mystique the original film did. And I feel they mainly focused on exposing more blood and gore rather than mysteriousness and creepiness like the original. And scenes are easily predictable. Now in terms of the look, The Kirk mask is what made Michael Myers so iconic. The face of Halloween. And that mask only made it to the 2nd installment of the franchise. So to some it up, Nick Castle is a lot of people’s top choice for Michael Myers because of the road he paved for other actors to not only portray Michael Myers but to somewhat evolve what they started in the original. Like my friend said, the Head Tilt is what made Michael Myers come to life along side the original mask.
No need to get all Salty lol. I just don’t think Nick was the best simply due to there being multiple people to play Myers in that film. Matters not how small the roles are. I agree the original definitely had a specialness to it that no other film quite captures and I credit a lot of that to Carpenter. I’m not saying Nick is the worst, Far from it. I just feel if people put Nick as best because they love H78 then others should be mentioned. H78 is my second favorite in the franchise but my favorite scene and most iconic for me is the closet scene. A bit that TLW did.

I’m talking about the 2 from TLW and the one from DH. Nick has a few yes but for me the most iconic scene was NOT the head tilt as you mentioned. For me its the closet scene that TLW did. Again its an opinion. Lets be honest apart from the head tilt was did castle really do? It was mostly good light and camera angles of Myers standing. Im not taking away from the few good scenes Nick had but to say he is the best just seems strange to me that’s all. DW or JJC was much better as they actually had more movement. Also on the Head tilt topic most people actually associate the head tilt with Dick Warlock at the end of H2. or at least that’s what I am always told when H2 is brought up or the Head tilt. Castle did it fist but Warlock did it better.
At the end of the day everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The original will always be my favourite of all time.

To be honest I think all of us here on this group are wonderful people for being passionate about the same thing which is the Halloween franchise. Everyone as an individual is different so therefore we all have different views and opinions about the whole franchise. I think we all can agree to disagree about who our favourites are but what matters most is the respect we all have for one another. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Your right on man. We are all passionate about what we enjoy and love. With that said, you had to of known a topic like this was going to present some very passionate debates. So this doesn’t surprise me at all. Great topic though man, it’s the good topics that get peoples passions flowing.

Great choice!! Chris Durand I’d say is underated. Although I wasn’t a big fan of the masks used in the film, he did a great job in H20.
I agree with letting threads go in regards to a couple of people butting heads. Nothing wrong with that.
