Why doesn't Loomis do anything?

I was watching Halloween on Blu-ray today and it just hit me how he doesn’t do anything when his nurse is under extreme danger from Michael. Even though he knows what Michael’s capable of, and he most likely has a gun, he still doesn’t do anything once Michael jumps on the roof of the car… he just continues to talk on the phone, and almost ignores what’s going on, until Michael drives off.

no-one at the office liked her …

Well do you want the long version or the short?..short:well it wasn’t in the budget or in the script.
Pesonally, If they would have delved into Michael and Loomis’s relationship a little deeper I am sure they would have discovered that in a way Loomis feel’s very responsible for Michael…almost in a father and son way which I find is pretty fascinating because although Michael has caused Loomis a bit of bodily damage over the years he has never really gone for the kill shot on him.I think thats what enrages Michael as well because this evil inside him is fighting his mind and who Sam Loomis is to him which is basically a caregiver.

As for why Loomis didn’t do anything?..I think it would have made his escape less profound and Loomis had a gun which is all he has to defend himself…If he shot him t,then there would have been no climatic scene at the end.Either way I don’t think people notice much.

“I SHOT HIM 12 TIMES!!!..I SHOT HIM 12 TIMES!!”…Just doesn’t have the same ring to it as 6

GG

I think he was a little preoccupied watching one of the other patients who got out

Hilarious…

Loomis was angry at her for not putting out for him

Well, he was on that important phone call with the main office. He probably put his hand over his other ear to be able to hear them over all of the screaming and tire screeching going on in the background. :sunglasses:

Excuse me… I have to go to the bathroom quick.

That’s a great question, I seem to remember the phone being a fair distance from where the car was parked, also the fact there was a terrible storm and very noisy and hard to see out gives a plausible explanation that Loomis didn’t realize what was going on until Michael was basically inside the car driving away.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

yes it took loomis WAY too long to respond. maybe he was scarred he would get ran over so he stayed by the guard shack :stuck_out_tongue: one of the many questionable scenes of the original Halloween. some will say there arn’t any but if you watch it outside the frame of mind in which you first seen the film, you will find its full of them.
none the less that film is a big part of my life. questionable scenes and all.

More offensive images…Think of the kids that will be offended when they see this…

hahahahaha!
