Why is no one talking about old man myers

So don’t get me wrong because I am going to see the movie but does anyone else find it strange that Myers will be 60 years old in the film? I mean H1 Michael is in his 20’s then 40 years later the film happens. Has JC or Danny McBride had anything to say about this in any interviews? I am sure, given praise at early viewings the film will be good (I am hopeful) but was just wondering?

Thanks all!

Numerous times, Michael gets caught and taken back to the asylum for 40 years, and all the films after the original are not canon

Ed Gein was in his mid-50s when he was apprehended. Age didn’t stop him from killing.

Some people act like 60 is “old.” 80, yeah, that’s “old.”

I understand that the rest of the films, in this story, never took place but what do you mean he keeps being taken back to the asylum for 40 years? In the teaser doesn’t the journalist state that “40 years ago Michael Myers killed three teenagers on Halloween night”? Actually 4 if you include the driver of the wrecker, which I think it would be cool in the film if they addressed that.

Because, I don’t really feel that it’s relevant. The Shape is pure evil, and that evil overcomes the physical body of Michael Myers. It’s evident that he can withstand more than a normal man. Plenty of 60 year old men now still do powerlifting and are heavy in the athletic field.

It’s irrelevant

Goob, your right 60 is not actually old but older. I guess I just figured since it is a total reboot with a new timeline that they would maybe not choose 40 years later I guess. I think it would have been cool if they made it say 10-15 years later and used the “old sepia” cinematography like Ted Demme used in Blow and made it feel like it was an older reimaging or continuation of the classic

Michael Myers was 21 in 1978, he’s been in an asylum since then, and escapes again 40 years later in 2018 aged 61. He only kill three teenagers on Halloween night 1978, Annie, Bob, and Lynda. The Phelps garage driver was killed during the day on Halloween and was probably never linked to Myers and remains a cold case.

it doesn’t take youthfulness to use a knife!

I’ve been thinking this for awhile. I know plenty of 60+ guys that I wouldn’t want to mess with. I also know people in their 40’s who can’t do crap.

Yes, when you’re 18 and on youtube 60 is ancient, but as you age, you realize age really is just a number.
You also get that “old man strength”, which is a real phenomenon.

Denzel Washington is 60, if he had a knife and was chasing someone, I bet they’d run!

He’s evil in the shape of a man. I don’t think he runs on the same stuff we do. lol

Whether he’s 10 or a 100 years old, doesn’t matter. Just like JC said, he’s a force of nature.

My father is 70 and can shoulder press more than most people I know. Age doesn’t affect the Boogeyman

my Dad is in his 60’s and can probably still kick my ass. And I’ve been in plenty of fights,…still wouldn’t want to mess with him. (ex-infantry in the Army, too)

Michael Myers at age 61 is still going to whoop some ass. I have no doubt.

Yeah, my Dad is 60, I’m 25. In a fist fight, im sure we’d kick each others ass. 60 isnt that old anymore. If you take care of yourself, you can kick ass on into your 80s.

65 years old

I’m 35… And I agree, that’s not old… But I run circles around the 20 year olds that work in our warehouse… I can hope Michael will do the same at 60 lol!! :drinkers:

Yes… yes indeed

It’s not a reboot at all. It’s a sequel to the original that skips the other films (wisely so IMO). Also, Myers is a man but also something more. Simply evil, the Boogeyman, The Shape. He killed his sister with no trouble at age 6 and withstood a bearing that should have killed him years later. Time has passed, but Evil is ageless.

Age is just a number my friend if you are good at it like Michael why stop?
