Why spend a lot of money on a blank?

Look what can be done with a $50 dollar canvas. Some blanks cost up to $350

Because the latex quality is better

There’s an indie blank that goes for $60 called the CGP Nemesis… and it’s a pretty good sculpt.

As mentioned, latex quality is a big reason. I would hate to score a JC piece after 5-7 years of waiting only for it to rot so soon. If I’m going to get something finished by him, I wouldn’t mind spending the extra money on a good blank.

So it is a proven phenomenon that TOTS masks rot faster than NAG masks for example?

The wizard Master turns every cheap blank to gold! But also with these beauty of a Conversion i would not be Happy with it… to much crisp details iam missing on these tots kirk! As a collector i would try to score more rare jc pieces like a n.o shat , Nightmare, h78, rarer, 2k etc. ! These are Mask iam hunting for

That’s what I’m wondering.

I dont think so, and its 99% of how you take Care about your masks.

All my tots are fine.
It’s more of a case of if you’re gonna treat your tots like a $60 mask, its gonna rot faster…No brainer.
The Hero was already cracking and deteriorating by the time they started filming H2.

I’ve got probably 50 masks from TOTS and none have any issues. I think Kaizu said it perfectly “It’s more of a case of if you’re gonna treat your tots like a $60 mask, its gonna rot faster”. That’s on point. We usually won’t treat a TOTS mask like one of our high priced grails and that’s exactly why TOTS is a needed part of our hobby, we can enjoy our masks without guilt! If you want it to be treated as a prized collectible however instead of wearing it to events and such with little care, then you have to treat it as you would any beloved collectible for it to last. Same with a first edition collectible book vs a “reading copy” book. It’s how they are treated that will decide their lengths of life for the most part.
