So, William Shatner was at the Motor City Comic Con this past weekend and I had a friend get me some autographs.
I was told, time and time again, that William Shatner will not sign ANYTHING Halloween related or even talk about it. Well, I was able to get some stuff signed and he answered 3 questions I asked my friend to ask him
Did you know that the average price of 1975 Don Post Studios original Capt. Kirk is between 15 to 20 grand?
“Yes, I know that the originals go for a “lot” of money.”
When did you first hear that the mask in Halloween was your face, did you hear it as a rumor or did someone tell you?
“I found out that the mask from Halloween was my face in the early 1980’s, if I remember correctly. A friend told me.”
What do you think about being the face of a horror icon now?
He just shook his head and smiled and said “Who would have thought it.” and just smiled.
Anyway, on with the pix. I had William sign 2 photos, one is for me, one is for a friend of mine. William was giggling when these were put in front of him and saw what he was supposed to sign. He held up the photos and said "“Wow, I guess I never really noticed how much that looks like me.” and signed “My Face, William Shatner” on them. (We asked for “Hey, that’s my face!” but he liked “My Face” better.)
And, of course the William Shatner mask. Oh, by the way, don’t think he doesn’t know the years of his masks, he said to my friend, about my mask, “This was one from the late 1990’s, right? This is a really, really nice one.” and then signed the mask.

My advice to get an autograph, don’t bring anything that says Halloween up to him…just a photo of Myers (Without a title Halloween) and basically make it about his face being used. Do that, he sign it. Act like a Halloween fan, he probably won’t sign it. I wish I could have gone…kicking myself still!
