Hi all,
I have been a Horror/Halloween collector for about 24 years. I have been following the Myers replica market for the last 7 years. Finally, thought it was time to make a big purchase. I will have it soon. Here it is, just finished at the studio. The NAG “Castle Edition” mask. Based on a combination of the phone and closet scene. Can’t wait to get it. With or without stuffing, I think we will be in the Holy Grail category.
I believe my 75k by Colin was a castle shape 75k then, as I had always noticed the detail seemed a lot crisper and that the forehead v was a lot more prominent than my others 75ks.
When I first received it I assumed Colin had just named it Castle Edition and that the crisper details were because it was an early pull from the original mold.
Hello SHAPEINTHEVOID… I believe the differences are the overall head shape. Notice, especially the left side of the face, it tapers in as it goes down. From the eyes down to the chin is like an upside down triangle. Also, from the eyes to the top of the head tapers inward into a regular triangle. Another thing is the lips seem slightly larger and the right side of the upper lip seems taller than the left from shading.
Now, I could be mistaken about these things. However, these are the things that I have noticed based on looking at the mask from the movie for 25 years and comparing it to Niks work.
Now, when the mask from the movie is off, it is an exact copy of the regular 75 K.
If you do have a 75K Castle Edition. Consider yourself very lucky. There are only about 4 in existence.
Awesome! Thanks for posting that comparison pic. I always wondered why certain 75ks looked better than others… now I know they were from a different mould. Here are some 75ks that I thought had something others didn’t, now I know (er, presume) that they’re from the “Castle Shape” mould. Cool!
I am sorry for bumping this thread, but upon further examination and comparisons of the given pictures, I am certain that I am an owner of a Castle Edition.
