Would Myers be as scary without The Mask?

Anyways.
I’ve been reading the Halloween II novel, which has the original version of the H2 script that Rick Rosenthal wanted, as Kirkus said.
Anyways, wondering this.
What if Myers, in Halloween one And two, DIDN’T wear the mask.
What if he just hid in the shadows and struck and killed who he needed to kill?
IS Myers Still scary Without his mask?

I just got off work (9pm) and enjoying a Budwiser. I rarely drink Vodka (Unless Im watching American Movie lol) As far as the question. The mask owns the movie.
