Wray's Halloween 2 review..(a couple of spoilers inside)

I’ll admit unlike most folks I know I found the remake a pretty good movie, better then most remakes I’ve seen. Was it better then the original? No, not even close but it was good in it’s own way. I followed Halloween 2 pretty closely up until it’s releast and watched the Halloween 1,4, & 5 marathon the night before on AMC. Since me and my cousins were pretty excited to see it I decided to wait until labor day weekend to catch it with them.
So saturday night comes and it’s me and my three cousins Danny, Mj, and Quez. My brother also stupidly came in with us who along with Quez were underage. Movie starts off with a bang with Mikey getting out of the van and walking toward his mother with the head and we knew we were in for some strange things. Once Michael pretty much ravages the hospital we were into it and were loving it until that part was a dream. Mj groans and says that that was complete bulls***. Rest of the movie goes on and I’m loving it as Michael’s just brutal and prettty much if you have some connection to Laurie you were going to catch it. Then again, if you pretty much were near someone Laurie knew or just so happened had to be in the way you would catch it. I’m kind of freaked out on the part with the pumpkins having dinner and trying to figure out what’s going on? Movie end’s and I’m still confused.
On to the actual review, H2 was pretty much what I expected 90 mins. of brutality and it lived up to it. The head stomp was pretty sick and crazy and it let me know that Mikey wasn’t playing around. It made my cousins and brother jump and that made me love the movie more because they said that wouldn’t be scary or make them jump.
Now onto the bad things, most of it made no sense what so ever. I know it was supposed to be what made Michael kill but what was shown didn’t make it clear. Michael’s mom, his inner child, and a white horse is what makes him go to Haddonfield and take Laurie? Not the most original motivation but I guess I’ll have to deal with it. Michael and Laurie’s thoughts didn’t make the film anymore clearer either. The pumpkin dinner scene, Laurie in the glass coffin, and the baby(that’s what it was right?) coming out of Laurie confused me even more but I guess Laurie going insane made up for it. The whole movie as a whole reminded me of Halloween 4 & 5, mainly 5 with the whole telepathic link thing Michael and Laurie were having. Loomis was just arrogant and cared mostly about selling books. Didn’t really like how Loomis was portrayed this time around unlike the first movie where he was a lot more helpful. I’ll admit I found the scene where he was drinking the wine funny because my cousin was saying “Mmm Cognac…Delicious” lol. I was mainly confused by the ending, so is Laurie a killer now? At the end her mom and the horse came walking up to her while she smiled and that made me even more confused.
I loved H2 but it would have been much better if the ghost subplot would have been left out and the movie as a whole made more sense. Oh, and also if Annie lived because I love Danielle Harris. :finga: lol I’d recommend it.
