Looks like they are on their way out thanks to the low box office return of H2. This is the reason why I’ve waited to go see it. The 1st two weeks is what the movie companies’ bank on for a successful film. If you really want to see a movie fail but you still want to see it in the theaters, then put it off for at lest 14 days. This is how you help stop these bad movies that Hollywood keeps pumping out.
Now lets hope someone like Universal will pick Myers up and do some justice to the series. To be honest with you I wouldn’t mind an animated feature with Michael, even if it were direct to video.
Although I don’t really want an animated feature, I am more than ready to see what someone else can do with the Halloween series. And I HOPE they go back to using a new mask with every film lol That was one of the most exciting things for me when a new Halloween movie was coming out- seeing the new mask
so, you haven’t seen the movie?
but, yet you want it to fail?..
then, your gonna go see it?
sorry but, that is about the stupidest thing i have ever heard.
i for one can make up my own mind about a movie
rather than jumping on the wagon…
If they do an animated feature with Myers I might cry a little. Not even the Weinsteins would attempt that one man. Remember the clone wars? That sucked so bad uber fan nerds told me not to see it and I didn’t. They could have made a clone wars movie that would have kicked ass but they didn’t.
No I still haven’t seen it. I might just wait until Oct. when it hits the $4 theater. And yes I want it to fail because the Weinsteins are ass clowns and they have no concept of good horror movies. As for Rob I like some of his stuff but I think from what I’ve been reading he did H2 just to piss Halloween fans off. More than likely from all the backlash of remaking part one. So yeah I’ve made my mind up. I’m going to go see it when it’s not in the top 5 on the box office report. I might even wait until it falls behind the top 10. Why? I don’t want Hollywood to think remakes are good enough to keep coming out. Besides it’s said and done if you read the link I posted. The movie company is going into a downward spiral and the next Halloween (if they have any money left to make one) will be direct to video crap. Also don’t get mad me for not running out and seeing it yet. I’ve had 4 different friends telling me about how bad this movie was and how much they wished they hadn’t spent money on it. At best, 2 of them said it’s would have been a good movie to watch with a group of people just to make fun of while watching (Mystery Science Theater type of commentary). And yes they all know how much of a Halloween fan I am therefore I trust them. You know why? Cause they told me Halloween Resurrection was barely better then the new H2.
Well considering George Lucas isn’t a good director, I understand what your saying. I was thinking more on the lines of something direct to video in the sense of what Marvel Comics have been doing with their characters on DVD (Not direct to video live action crap slapped on a dvd that ends up on the sci-fi channel every month). I couldn’t foresee an animated rated R movie hitting the theaters (I think South Park was the real last one to hit the screens). I’ve read all the Halloween comics that have came out and they do a lot better in telling a story about Myers and his victims. Plus they stick to the original mythology of the character. Now I’m not saying remake the comics but keeping with that sense in story is what most people want. You know the spooky/phantom like killer instead of a brute in a mask like Leather face and Jason. Hell I wouldn’t mind a Halloween video game something on the lines Grand Theft Auto-ish in the town of Haddonfield. Either as Michael or a Detective or something.
I’m sorry but this just seems really desperate to get people to see this movie.
Don’t movies do this the week of the opening just to build up hype instead of a week or 2 after???
Oh well it looks like in 7 days it only made little over 5 1/2 million and it fell from 3rd place to 6th. http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/boxoffice/
I guess american people really don’t care for it after all. I still havve plans to go see it .
