I think we all agree that this movie is a classic lol, but what are your 3 fav shots from the movie?.. Mine are listed below.

  1. Behind the Bush
  2. Michael Breaking Through the Closet Doors
  3. Michael Dressed as a Ghost wearing Bob’s Glasses

For me, these three.

  1. Opening house shot. Everything about this shot is perfect. The framing, the lighting, the way the house stands out on a dark field. It’s a really spooky shot, and really well crafted.

  1. First mask reveal. It’s the first time we see the mask really well, and it looks great. The high angle gives the eyebrows a really mean look, and I love the way the blue lighting hits the mask.

  1. Closet shot. A perfect amount of claustrophobia and tension thrown into the shot. Basically, you’re getting a first person view of Michael as he busts into the closet and stares straight at you. It’s terrifying! Plus the placement of the high lighting gives the mask a great amount of definition, outlining the Kirk cheeks and frizzy hair. Not to mention the “exterior” lighting casts a fainter and less prominent blue light into the shot.

Gotta be Bob shot (side angle), phone shot and silhouetted shot when Loomis shoots his bad ads.

  1. Michael appearing at the top of the stairs after Tommy says “you can’t kill the boogeyman.”
  2. Michael walking down the stairs after he stabs Laurie
  3. Michael sitting up behind Laurie at the end of the film

In no particular order, my favorites are the phone scene after Michael kills Linda and we see the mask, next is when Michael busts through the closet and turns his head to look right at you, and finally, the absolutely gorgeous shot of Michael just standing across the street at Lindseys house while watching Annie, when Tommy looks out the window. To me that shot perfectly captures everything that truly makes Michael the shape, with his image being darkened out against the beautifully lit house, with trick or treaters going by, leaves blowing around, all with John Carpenters creepy music.

Probably my favorite in the movie. Just appearing out of the shadows. Gotta love it.
