Obviously as a community we all love to he as accurate as possible with our collection / costumes as possible, so many people ordered replicas of the new knife. My question is, do you actually like it? I feel Myers will be a badass no matter what but the original 1978 Lamson just added to the eeriness. I like the big knife much better and am wondering if anybody likes the new knife better
I like the big 78 knife too. The H18 knife reminds me of the H20 knife a bit. I may make an H18 knife at some point and make it way bigger lol Because nothing is more menacing looking than Myers with a big ole piece of ominous looking cutlery in hand
Well-said! When I think Myers I think the biggest kitchen knife you can find. I may very well be the only H40 Myers walking around with a Lamson haha
Apparently Michael uses 4 knives in the movie. We’ve only seen 1 of them.
That’s cool! I can understand maybe why they went with a smaller knife for '18 I mean, not alot of people have a giant butcher knife in their kitchen drawer lol I dont…I got plenty of wooden replica ones though lol Maybe we will be in for a treat with the new movie and he ends up finding a monster of a knife…
I really hope the other 3 are much larger
Well here are the 4 knives and they all look the same to me.
Those are 4 of the same knife. In this picture he’s got a different knife, bigger than those
I went with this knife, inaccurate but a similar look to the handle and more importantly a 12" blade.
I have this year’s knife on the left and a vintage 12” on the right.
So do they make large knifes anymore?? I mostly see smaller ones
I vastly prefer the 1978 Lamson knife, something about that huge blade ha ha. As others have said, I understand why they would use a smaller knife in the new movie, because apparently larger kitchen knives aren’t very common these days. As a matter of fact, I went to my local Walmart a couple weeks ago, and out of curiosity, I walked down the kitchen supplies aisle just to check out all the kitchen knives to see if they had any the size of the '78 Lamson, and as expected, they did not. Just smaller ones like they’re using in the new movie.
Yep. Nobody makes a 12 inch blade. I saw a great 14 1:4 inch vintage chef knife on eBay. Wish I had picked it up. It was a Roman short sword. Lol
Dirtknap FX makes a really nice 1978 replica! Believe they have a 2018 now as well
I don’t know why they couldn’t of gone with the modern Lamson. It has the look of the original but with a modern look. Which would fit with the vibe of the new movie imo.
Yeah man I agree. Even if not a Lamson, just a bigger knife. I know he might find a knife like in the Elrod scene to use but I just wish they went with a bigger knife for the entire film. I just remember Myers with a huge kitchen knife but I’m not going to doubt Carpenter’s vision until I actually see the movie.
How much does carpenter really do in the film?? I know he does music and is a creative consultant but doesn’t overal film come down to main producer and director?

I think we will be happily surprised with Carpenter overseeing this film. He hasn’t spoken out too much on his roll but he wouldn’t have done it had it not been exactly what he wanted. He hated the direction Halloween 2 1981 went and was quoted saying the Rob Zombie remakes were “garbage”. I think we are going to get quite a bit of Carpenter’s visions in this film and a nice nostalgic feel to the original
Man I play the Friday the 13th video game and soooo many people I play with think robs version was way better!! WTf!! They say the original was too slow and the New was good because of back story
