At the end of the day, its a fucking film. People think too much into it. John Carpenter changes his answer on what Michael is all the time as he doesnt give a flying fuck as much as you lot would like to think. Believe it or not John isnt a fan of the movie like all of us are. Its just a film he made which hes proud of, if that. Its a film. YOU decide what Michael is. There is no definitive answers. I didnt have this mindset but from the replies I received to my last reply on this post, either all of you are children or grown full men with an attitude that stinks like my dogs ass. As has already been conveyed here, playing this facade that he started as a “regular human” is silly as many scenes in H1 itself, and ESPECIALLY the ending, made it quite clear he was not normal, and Loomis sold that the entire movie. People actually debating this or trying to argue around it is silly. I would argue that point being hammered him is what etched Michael in history as the quintessential boogeyman in films.
I think the remake humanizing him, while interesting, was part of what largely killed the mystique of the character.
I understand that you have to do new things over time, but this is part of why attempts at prolonging Michael’s story has been problematic.

I mean i can kinda agree with you there, although I’m more for just keeping it ambiguous. While saying he kills because of a cult or that a witch cursed the Myers name (i didn’t like Halloween Reflections) makes Myers less scary, saying that he is a mortal man doesn’t really work either. It’s supposed to be a mystery that leaves the audience asking questions that will only lead to more questions. To me, The Shape is an intangible force but really there is no way to be sure. Like I said earlier it’s meant to start discussions such as this one, one of the reasons why it’s my favorite movie.
I didnt change my mind at all. Michael is a mortal human being for all intensive purposes. Thats what the film leads you to believe right until the end when he disappears making you question where did he go? What is he? So no one knows what Michael is. This topic shouldnt even be up for debate.
