Hes half and half. The point I was trying to make. Satan didnt *** him out. He was born normally and is a man BUT has some sort of supernatural thing going on but still a man. People want to over analyse my comment like they do with Michael Myers too. John Carpenter dont give a damn really what Michael is. Everything was for the effect of the first film ( not knowing it would grow to be what it is now ) and simply that.

I mean i can kinda agree with you there, although I’m more for just keeping it ambiguous. While saying he kills because of a cult or that a witch cursed the Myers name (i didn’t like Halloween Reflections) makes Myers less scary, saying that he is a mortal man doesn’t really work either. It’s supposed to be a mystery that leaves the audience asking questions that will only lead to more questions. To me, The Shape is an intangible force but really there is no way to be sure. Like I said earlier it’s meant to start discussions such as this one, one of the reasons why it’s my favorite movie.

Dude, honestly I think the whole conversation is cancer. John Carpenter doesnt fully know what Michael REALLY is. Like you said, its the mystery of Michael that makes him scary. This post was bound for conflict as everyone has different opinions. Ultimately though, it doesnt mean jackshit as there is no real meaning of defintion as to what Michael is (which is what I love about him).

I agree, I wasnt a fan of reflections. I also saw more of Michael than the other characters which kind of ruined it for me too.

throughout the whole movie loomis explains how he isn’t human, not sure how you got the idea the movie was trying to tell you he’s human. he phases in and out places like the bush, laurie’s yard, the wallace house he also gets stabbed in the neck and eye and keeps on coming, pretty sure that would give you an idea he isn’t a normal human, he’s simply a man driven by a force.

Loomis says hes not human metaphorically. Oh god you make me cringe so bad. Getting the stabbed in the neck and gut are all things one person could realistically survive. The fact he keeps going without pain is part of that supernatural edge, that thing that makes him that much more more than a man. Youre a total noob.

After reading the article it just kind of suggests MrBride is out of touch with the original movie. Suggesting he was human in that movie makes no sense as others have pointed out in the thread, humans don’t get their eye gouged out, stabbed multiple times, shot 6 times point blank, and finally fall from the second story of a house and live…let alone get up and disappear.

I’m expecting they will probably just portray Michael as just a psychopath in a mask. Which in turn will take away the mystic of the character and bring him down a notch from other movie monster/slasher icons.
