I was never good at Jeopardy so I have no idea who the artist is.
Neither was I … The game of hangman is still going, pick a letter man, so we can fill it up
So just a quick update. 15 days ago I was told it would be done in two weeks. So now, it’s a total of 187 days since I sent payment and still nothing.
Doesn’t it make u feel good tho seeing him putting new stuff for sale on ebay that was made instead of ur order?

Oh and ill go with an o and a u for ur hangman game since no one else is playing lol

Oh man it completely sucks. I should really make a post in the thread on this site where I saw him advertise it. In the 187 days since I paid, here is a list of all the new finished sculpts he has done (only one was a commission, the rest ended up on ebay, one or two may still be unfinished as I didn’t see them on either of the ebay accounts). Mine was a pour/finish. Definitely something that shouldn’t take 187 days.
And For an O & U : J O N _ _ _ _ N F U _ _ _ R.
I really wanted to avoid the drama and call - outs, but I think before the day is over, there’s no other option but to call him out on the Horrorbid FB page. I told him 15 days ago he was taking the piss, and he replied he’d have it completed in two weeks and posted out. Funny thing was, he didn’t remember exactly what I ordered. So today is going to be a right bitch having to call him out, and the usual guys “no — he’d never do that – you’re lying” blah blah blah. On an FB on a Artist Warning page, I’ve already offered $100 dollars to anyone in the San Diego area to call around to his house asking to see progress and take a couple of pictures. Easy 100 dollars for a couple of hours in the afternoon.
Well I know this isn’t much comfort but he doesn’t flat out rip people off and you will eventually recieve your piece. I think my wait time was 4 or 5 months and that was jist for a blank no finishing work

This kind of thing makes me angry because I have been in this situation time and time again.I completely understand where you are coming from and it sucks. The majority of artists I have dealt with, with only a few exceptions, have given me a time frame that they never come close to meeting. It is really extremely frustrating.
The problem for me,along with all of the points that have already been made is that it kills your excitement for the piece that you’ve ordered. If someone tells you a few weeks and then it goes on and on for months,by the time you get it you have negative energy attached to the purchase.Instead of being happy to receive it,it’s more like you are just relieved to have the ordeal over with. That is unacceptable. When you make the decision to send someone your hard earned money based on being a fan of their work, you deserve to be 100% happy. If these guys stopped taking your money up front and had to break their ass to get paid, you can bet it would turn around really fast.I can think of countless times that I have been jerked around and it’s unfair. We make a deal based on your time estimate, you meet that deadline or damn close…period. That is how business is done. After all,a big part of what makes the final push for me to send someone money is their finish time quote. If someone told me I would have to wait six months for a mask,I very well may pass since I don’t want to be out that money for that long with nothing to show for it.Problem is,the artists know that and tell you what you want to hear just to get you to hit that send button on Paypal. It’s a true shame.
Best of luck.
Whoever this Jonathan Future is, if that’s his work above, he does it pretty good.
These above pieces aren’t really like cutting eyes & painting. Not to hint that it’s easy but the above is a whole different ballgame. So lets say he say’s “hey” 0 down & pay me when i’m done"…4-5 months later, hey man, sorry it took so long but i went to the bathroom, ate a few meals a day, played with little Johnny, have this job i go to mon-fri & sleep 6-7 hours a nite etc etc.
“I think” (as you all think), the better % of people would say "oh sorry yo, i already spent dat money on sumtin else B, lol sorry i forgot to tell you…My bad, outtie 5000… now he’s spent hours of work & a lot of detailing only to be told that the customer decided on a PSfo instead…But that’s what e-bay is for to be fair.
Not sure about the “good o’l boy clique” thing. Why can’t it be a city slicker clique, (maybe because thats harder to say)…Try it again…
City sicker slick…No say it the right way…
City slicker sick…
Silly kitty lick…
City clicker lick…Damn it!!!.. city s l i c k e r clique…Ehh good o’l boy clique is easier.
Anyway, some of the work above looks great & hopefully it won’t be much longer before you get your order soon as you paid for it & was told it would be X amount of time, if he’s doing work instead of your’s then it needs to be taken a little more seriously than this little wheel of fortune game being played…If there is some sort of regular communication it at least helps, or supposedly.
Jonathan Fuller does do great work. I can’t speak from experience dealing with him on MAKING a mask, but I did get a finished one directly from him once. He seemed like a cool guy, but very busy, so with that what you will.
He will continue to tell you two weeks forever if you let him. That’s exactly what he did with me when I ordered my Trick 'r Treat Sam bust. I finally had to threaten him with getting my credit card company involved to get what was owed. He is a fantastic artist, but one of the worst businessmen I’ve ever dealt with, and he has absolutely no problem lying to placate his customers.
Thanks for the replies guys, and I take on board everything.
The negative energy thing is nail on the head. All those pics of busts I posted, I know I would have bought each and every one of them, if I had gotten my bust in the time frame. There’s at least 8 there… that’s say 4-6K dollars I would have shelled out over the last 6 months. It’s bewildering why this business ethic is the way it is. Maybe because he knows I’m from Ireland, that he thinks that I’m well out of the way. I’m a legal consultant by day, and to escalate this to a legal level is easier than making breakfast, even paypal’s 45 day rule contravenes the law in almost every country. But the reason I don’t is because I know how hard it is to establish a reputation, and even harder to maintain it. The last thing I want is to affect this guy’s business, or subjectively, a bunch of guys going… you’re lying… he’s great… etc etc. So my position right now is between a rock and a hard place.
Just sent him a message again on FB asking any update… and this is what I got:
“Going out to you first week of December”.
Right, will update the thread December the 8th. I must say, December the 8th will definitely be the deadline on this. Will go “Fucking Hostile” on Dimebag’s anniversary!

Many times artists in the hobby seem cool or you might even think that they’re your “friend.” However, business is business. Many times once an artist is paid, its now vacation day for them and they quit replying to the buyer or this or that happens. There’s always some type of BS in this hobby. It’s frustrating.
You have been too nice. This is ridiculous
- why is it that the only defense anyone ever seems to provide for this type of behavior is that if an artist doesn’t charge up front they’ll get screwed, thus they have to charge up front?
Why is a deposit system something that’s simply out of the question? Chris has proven beyond question that it works.
- Props on the Herculean amount of sarcasm you doled out there, damn…
Well it’s the 4th of December… 4 days until the 8th, and haven’t heard a squeak… no update, progress picture etc. This is looking pretty grim and this guy’s word can definitely not be trusted. Lets hope by the 8th he’ll have redeemed himself somewhat and actually decide to be honest. Otherwise it looks like I’ll be filling in one of these forms. https://complaint.ic3.gov/default.aspx?
