Hi all. I am narrowing down the H1 mask I’d like to buy. I really just want a great 1978 mask. Kind of curious what everyone’s thoughts are on the following. I’m curious what you think is the best value here for the money. My budget is up to $350.
Sinister - Hiro. This one is the cheapest and it looks pretty solid!
NAG- 75K Castle, 75k New mold, Nightmare. The NAGs look great but are pricey! Worth it?
Night Owl- Creep. The issue I have here is some reviews I see it looks great but others it looks… just ok. Almost like the artist doesn’t always give it his all. But when it hits it looks really great.
Handibyo- Dead Ringer or NHK. Both look great but not as screen accurate as the others IMO
The PS78 is very screen accurate along with the ID mask by Somnabulist. Don’t know the prices but they are top tier masks. Image of the ID mask worn and ps78 displayed.
They are both 590. Nik’s older molds are 390I know people are really weird and about prices and I never understand it. It shouldn’t be a secret. A lot of people would like to know about prices before entertaining the idea of buying a mask. The only reason I mention that is cause a lot of times you get ignored or turned down when asking about prices and it can take weeks to hear back from the top mask makers during the busy season.
Nag’s Kirk Stretch is around that price. Might be closer to 375 but it captures the castle look really well. The ones you named are all great. The 75k castle and mmk are some of my favorites from Nik. I wouldn’t recommend and of Sinister Studio’s masks. They aren’t accurate at all and aren’t even close to holding the title of what you are looking for. Nik’s masks are pricey but definitely worth it! The Cover mask that Nik does is less than 350 (I think) and it has the 78’ look with some menace. What you call the best depends on what look you want.
The 75k castle is just the 75k with a bit of an added stretch. The Kirk Stretch goes all out on the castle look and is fully distorted. You still have to stretch the 75k castle a bit when wearing it. I’d say that the Kirk Stretch works better with your price range. It’s a newer mask and there aren’t too many people who own them from what I’ve seen. You can ask Nik for more pics. For up to $350 i think the creep is the way to go. Just tell Justin to take his time with it and give him some reference pics that you like

When someone gets a NAG finished by another artist does NAG just send the base Kirk mold to the artist or is the complete NAG mask sent to the artist and they do touch ups?
Nik can send a blank to an artist and they’ll finish it and send it to you. Nik only sends blanks to certain artists. If he doesn’t send blanks to an artist you want, you can buy the mask as a Kirk or Myers and then send it to that artist. You can’t buy blanks off of him, though.
Creep…finished by JC or another reputable artist. Hands down the best and most accurate. These “Stretch”masks are cool but they only had that look if Nick Castle with his long face was wearing it. Didn’t look like that sitting on a stand. So these stretch masks, although really cool, are NOT accurate. That look can be achieved with an accurate mask stuffed correctly. At the end of the day, its your money to buy whatever you like. But if you want 100% accurate, don’t buy a “Stretch” mask. This is 100% accurate…
