I mailed him way back and no answer, I texted him on FB and he answered a month later accepting my friendship but didn’t answer all my questions so I asked him again, 3 weeks have passed and still has to visualize, he’s a good guy but it’s impossible to do business with these people, I’m not gonna place an order of over 300 bucks without knowing what I’m gonna buy, how he’s gonna make it, information about the shipping, and the wait in general, these people really need a secretary if they’re so busy, many lower end studios have one so I really believe these people just don’t care about making more money…
I would get a Captain Kirk Mask from TOTS and convert it, it turns into a pretty good H1 Mask and it costs maybe 80 to 90 dollars to get the mask and everything you need to convert it.
This is from Rowland Kelly and he’s fantastic to do business with. Send him a message and I’m sure he can get you a picture of the new H1SM mold. It’s really great and highly affordable.
Of course, as others have said, you can go with a TOTS conversion of an Elrod, Tramer or a Kirk. Here’s a Kirk conversion that is based upon the creep mold:
If you can convert your own mask getting a TOTS Elrod or Kirk is a viable option but honestly I personally wouldn’t buy a $60 mask and pay $200 for a rehaul when you can just get a Nightowl Creep for a few more dollars. The latex is much higher quality
This! buying a TOTS + convertion you’re gonna spend almost as much as ordering an high end mask from an artist, at this point you better have an artist made one from scratch and costumized for you.
Unfortunate truth! Still hoping they eventually release a 2018 in a large. 24.5’ is ideal but even 24’ is better than what seems to be closer to 22’. It’s crazy because I still haven’t figured out if most people just have smaller heads. I’ve seen a lot of complaints about TOTS masks being too small but almost an equal amount of people saying “their heads were swimming in the large H2”. That large H2 barely fits me I hope they release a “large” & “small” or regular version of every mask. We have a large enough community for them to definitely profit off the idea
All I can say is I have a small head, but I have room in the Kirk. It’s not huge on me like the original run of H2 masks, but it’s not tight either. Here you can see the fit of a custom made mask at 23" and the Kirk, which is larger.
I agree with everything you said. I am actually brand new to mask collecting. I was, and I still am very much excited about collecting some great Myers mask in the future. The only thing that has held me back recently is the lack of communication from some of these guys. Being new to all of this, I have had a hard time sending 300 plus bucks out to anyone who refuses to get back to me. I would be happy with any communication to be honest. Again, this is not the experience I have had with every artist… just a couple whom I really am interested in purchasing a mask from.
