LOL!!
Like I said, I love both films, so I really have to nitpick to find a way to like one better than the other.
As for the dead spots in H2, to me there is definitely some dead spots. 30 min straight of dead spot? No, I wouldn’t say that. But some things scare or engage others in different ways. When Michael is just strolling through the hospital, looking for victims, it had no effect on me at 8 years old when I first saw it in 1988, and still doesn’t. However some of my friends and family find it to be a creepy aspect of the film. Just doesn’t have that effect on me.
I will tell you what does though, is Alan Howarth’s rework of Carpenters score. H2 is my favorite score out of the whole franchise. I just love the synth vibe going on, and that actually is more creepy to me than the original 1978 score. IN MY OPINION.
As for H40, it doesn’t have dead spots, but moves along maybe slightly too fast. If it were allowed to breathe a little more and stretch out some of Michaels stalking, it would of been a no brainer for me that it would of been the better sequel.
That motion light scene could of been drawn out a little more, as that scene had real potential to be one of the best creepy scenes in the movie. Still good, but could of been stretched out a bit more.
The end of the movie though does great with the suspense aspect. They nailed the suspense at the end there at Laurie’s house.
I don’t know, I love both films. I voted H40 but it’s really a tie for me at the end of the day.

I’ll go H2. I don’t like Warlock or his walking underwater speed/movements, or the mask stretched onto his face and how that looked…but the movie still kicks ass. H40 has so many golden opportunities and it fumbles nearly every one of them.
Myers literally hardly does any stalking at all. That chase scene with Allison, while starting off so good, never even materializes at all. Myers looking like a dope getting ran over(missed stealth hiding opportunity)…The entire Sartain nonsense. Retconning the ending of the original…he got apprehended ?? Why not say that after the killings he wandered back to Smith Grove on his own…way more powerful . Showing JJC unmasked way too often. Just dumb, The lame ending…H2 mops the floor with it as far as memorable scenes. Just so many tweaks that could have easily been made yet don’t that leave yoy just sitting there scratching your head.
