As I’ve mentioned before, my Boogeyman came in the mail this morning, and I’ve been planning out what I’m gonna do to it. I’m going to rehair it and reseal it with some matte Plastidip to remove the shine, and possibly test out a weathering method I saw NAG use on Instagram. The biggest concern for me is the eyecuts, as I know they’re smaller on these ones and I immediately saw that out of the box. The mask’s left eye looks a bit off already, but I realized its just black paint around the eyecuts, which I guess is standard (?). So after I paint them over, I’m gonna plans the cuts, with my exacto knife and probably my Dremel. Does anyone have any tips in general for eyecuts and how to be precise?
I can help you with side by side shots. I don’t think black being painted on is standardized mine didn’t have it, whats funny is the h6 hero mask actually has something like this on it. I would do the eyes first before you paint, so you dont have to reseal eyes. Mark them out and then it’s just gunna be alot of eyeing it up back and forth with your reference till you think you got it marked right. Then you just dremel a bit at a time till you get to your marked out spots. Just take your time planning it b4 hand , I thought I had it but misjudged spacing. Pay attention to the space between the eyebrow and the top of the eye and nose, that’s your best indicators. I will get you some side by sides A.S.A.P for your first pic, wont be the best reference as your mask is laying flat , but will give you an idea anyway. will need different angles for others. If you have some of that cream boot polish that’s easily removable , I would paint the shadows on the inside of the eyes like the hero mask to help with placement/judging distances.
Not the best lighting, but here’s a few. The lining on the cut of the eyes has black on them, so I think its just a bit of a slip that made the left eye look like it was cut poorly. I was just referring to a temporary white paint on the black so I can draw the cuts better, I’d use regular acrylic and remove it after the cutting.
Gunna have to repaint that right eyebrow, your left, it’s off and it will throw you off in the process.
Sorry both eyebrows are off.
Ok, I’ve been working lightly on the eyes here and there throughout the day, using some transition pictures I made with my mask and my ideal mask. Mine is on the bottom, the picture below shows another Boogeyman that I like with the eyes fixed (see where the eyes lap, mine are the darker pair). So far I’m happy with the progress, they should be done by tonight if I keep it up!
Ya definitely paint that area back on so it makes it a bit easier to see the flow of the curve. Coming along nicely, slow and steady!
Alright, so long story short, the stock paint came off. It started peeling off when I was cutting the eyes, which made me just go the whole mile. Then I used makeup sponges as a test alternative to an airbrush to paint on the white, which actually worked much better than I expected. Still has some work to go on the neck all around, then I’ll move on to the next steps! Critiques welcome
(Dynamic shot for fun)
Not much to critique, I’d say the eyes, but you’re not going for the exact movie replica , and are you gunna weather it ? Maybe could use cheek /lip etc, highlights? Just a suggestion but everything is looking great ! Couple questions about the sponge, did you just build up with light layers? If this was done on a trilogy mask , do you think it would bring out details the same way as drybrushing?
I’m definitely gonna touch up those areas, probably with my domed brushes, but I’m probably not gonna have it extremely dirty like some people do. As for the sponges yes, it was light layers, but even when I laid it on thick sometimes by accident, it smoothed out really easily and there are 0 clumps ANYWHERE on the mask. I honestly think it could work on the newer masks, but its something you’d have to try as I have no masks to do it on
Ya I know I just wanted a little insight before I try it.so you just smoothed it out with the sponge ? I’ll practice on a piece of latex . Thanks for the reply, bud. Keep going!
No problem! Yeah, I dipped the bottom of the sponge in the paint, then wiped some off, then dabbed/smoothed after. Either way its pretty smooth and doesn’t go on bumpy
Awesome sauce dude I’m glad ypu experimented and posted . Apreesh ![]()

The hair is most likely finished! It was pretty fun to do, I’m satisfied at the moment. I reworked the eyes a bit too and will probably do a bit more on them before I weather the mask. Also will post better pictures in the morning
Damn man you got skills! Beauty!

Drying from some Plasti Dip after I retouched the eyes and painted them. This picture better portrays the mask (and a B/W shot)
It’s beautifully done. How the 78 originally looked before being worn down , then you got your own little touches with the hair and the eyes. Great work
suit up !!!
Might just be me , but I sense a H6 vibe with that center hairline . I really like the way you styled that hair as well.
Thanks man! Just took some water, gel, and hairspray for the hair. I started the weathering, and after some touchups it’ll probably be done
And it’s finished! TOTS “Boogeyman" retooled to be a mix of the original Hero and the Halloween Kills Flashback Hero. I decided not to highlight the cheeks too much because it made the mask look like the Resurrection mask, but maybe I’ll mess around with it in the future. If anyone has any questions or critiques, they’re all welcome as usual.
Well we have to see you suited up with this!
I’ve got nothing bad to say it’s a cool idea
love what ya got there dude.
