After looking at all the different masks used by Michael Myers in the Halloween franchise, i realize that each of them have there own unique characteristics that make them stand out, so it got me thinking… “what if we take the most liked characteristics from each one and joined them into one mask?”.
So my idea is to gather the whole community to decide on one (Scary or intimidating) characteristic from each of the Mask used in the series by our favorite killer, them i will use this info to make a drawing of what it could possibly look like, and hopefully the final product will turn out really terrifying… or a bit goofy lol.
I will start with my favorite characteristic of the mask that started it all! the 1978 mask!
To me the characteristic that i most like about it is the messy hair with those “hair Horns” the really give a distinct and intimidating silhouette to him.
i hope this thing works out, it could be a really fun!
Btw, i think that to make this easy to decide, we will go by order of the movies, we will spitball a bunch of Characteristics about the mask in question, then i will make a poll with all of them so we can decide which will be chosen, then we move to the next!
Very interesting idea! This could be tricky though, because as you said, each mask has it’s own characteristics that may clash with another’s if combined into one mask. With that being said, here’s my list… H1: This mask is simply perfect in my opinion, everything about it. So any detail of it would work for me H2: The Warlock stretch. H4: I for one love this mask, despite the unnecessary hate it gets. I consider it to easily be the creepiest in the series simply due to how emotionless and blank it is, as Myers should be. H5: I actually don’t have a problem with this mask, but I think the sculpt is the best detail. H6: Again, I like the sculpt. H20: Not a fan of how goofy the hair looks, made even worse by how clearly you can see his eyes, BUT I think the sculpt is ok. Resurrection: Not crazy about this mask, but definitely an improvement over H20 in my opinion. So again, I say the sculpt. RZH1: The sculpt. RZH2: For what little mask there is, I still say sculpt. H18: The sculpt. Kills: The sculpt. Ends: The sculpt.
Not sure how helpful any of that is, but when I say “sculpt”, I’m referring to the facial features, so eyes, cheeks, nose, and mouth. Being that I said that for several of the masks, I guess I would have to choose one facial feature from each.
i mean, if this gets any traction, it would be nice to get a bit more specific, like, as we go, maybe the characteristic chosen for the H2 mask are the shape of the eyes, or the paint job, and for the original, maybe its the castle stretch, but for now its just nice that i got a reply lol, but i get it, the sculpt on those masks in general were really sick.
For me the overall look we all love from H1 and H2 are perfect. However I love the mask(s) in RZ H1 and H2 and the new trilogy. To me the masks in these 7 films are way above all the others. Every other mask in the franchise to me just looks silly.
I love the sculpts and aged, rough look of the RZ and trilogy masks.
i think the characteristic of mask from the RZ movies that i like the most is the shape of the eyebrows, that slight angry contraction of the brow mucles is just evil lol.
as for the new trilogy, i love the style of aging it has, those wrikles and that grungy brown wash in the lips, eyes and nose is so cool!
This is a cool idea, but for me, the Shape’s mask in The Immortal Classic is perfect in every way. Unnerving, creepy, and frightening. No other mask has come close except the H18, a mask intended to look as much as the original as possible.
Yes, imo the original, RZ1, and H40 are the best of all of them.
I think giving the original mask (with the castle stretch) the eyebrows and longer philtrum of RZ with the aging of H40 would be excellent. Keeping the sculpt the same otherwise would be a boon.
Thats actually a really good characteristic sugestion, i never heard nobody talk about the philtrum of a certain mask, and the one on the RZ one sure is sick, Nice sugestion!
well, i guess we can start now, and to begin this event, lets look at the mask that started it all, the 1978 mask, i want you guys to analyze it and search for one characteristic specific to it that you think is the most intimidadinting or scariest, or even if it just something that you think makes it “tick” in your brain, just go for it!
3 castle stretch
2 hair
1 the cheeks
1 the lips
1 the flesh tones
this is getting exciting! cant wait to see the results, btw ive seen some people share their sentiment that the masks after H2 till the Rob Zombie remakes (h4,h5,h6,h20,hRes) are not really scary… should we exclude them? or do we keep them for the fun of it?
