So I have a JDF blank and attempted to measure it. The only tape measure I have is a very stiff one. When measuring from the top of the mask down, going over the move it measures 28.5 cm. Measuring from the top down going next to the nose it measures 27.75 cm. That is with pulling the tape as tight to the mask as I can. Unfortunately Iām unable to photograph this as I canāt get the tape to stay in place with one hand. Also the mask measures 18cm from the top over the nose down to the vent hole. Keeping the take as flush to the mask as I can.
I then measured the mask from top to bottom on the backside so it was perfectly straight and it measured 25cm.
Iām going to go ahead and purchase one and take some pics, unless someone else does. Thanks for this information!
Sorry the pics arenāt the best; but with the stiff tape measure it was very difficult. If I see a soft tape measure in a store I will grab it and try to take a new picture.
And please ignore the paint. In the process of sanding it down to repaint as I screwed up the first go round.
With Darioās measurement, I still think it could be a soft tape by the way it bends twiceā¦ The angle also makes it hard to get precise. its hard for me to pinpoint any measurements other than the top down to the bottom forehead holes.

Having held both a fiberglassmasks 3 and a JDF 3 blank I can say for sure the FGM one completely dwarfs the JDF.
I honestly donāt see where it bends a second time, except for the nose.
What do you mean? As in itās larger than a JDF?
Yes, the FGM is much larger than a JDF. If I get a chance tomorrow I will take a side by side picture.

Not sure what picture you have, but in mine you can see the entire tape measurer. You can see clearly that it is a stiff measuring tape. Photo attached.
Yes I have the same one, it could be a stiff measuring tape, but the way it appears to bend at the nose also makes me wonder. Not that it really matter either way, lol.
The fibrosport medium is a little over 27.5 cm, this means that the part 3 mask has to be longer than that because they added clay around the bottom half of the mask to enlarge it. I dont think the forehead area was altered much, if at all, so measurements taken from the top would not be very meaningful.
Good point here. This is the second time over heard to clay added around the bottom of the mask story, I donāt doubt this as true but I am curious where itās been said by the FX team before. I find it interesting that it isnāt mentioned more. Has anyone tried to add clay to the bottom half of a vintage FS and vac-forming it several times to see the outcomes?

Here are three masks from part 5. The DMC mask and two from the movie. The DMC mask and the one worn by Tom Morga have the same plate like shape and size. While the mask worn by John Shepard is more narrow most likely due to not wearing a head appliance and pulling the strapping tighter bringing in the sides. Making it look more like the shape of a part 3/4 mask. Just my opinion. But to my eye David Millers story is legit. I see no difference in the DMC mask and the one Tom Morga is wearing.
Just look at the bottom vent holes. The one on the masks left hand side is out of alignment from the rest of them in the picture of your masks. In all the screen grabs the same vent hole appears slightly out of alignment in the other direction - what I mean is on your mask the vent hole is too far towards the outer edges of the mask and in the screen grabs the vent hole is too far towards the center.
I see no reason why DMC would lie about using the movie mold; which is why in my opinion the mold must have been damaged and repaired; so while it is still the movie mold; it isnāt in its original form.

What are the actual colors of the part 5 maskā¦ I know itās burnt umber, burnt sienna and raw sienna for yellow tone. What I mean which one is the right colors. Iāve seen david millers mask, some are white, with some slight yellow hue, some are raw sienna with some slight grimeā¦ then the ambulance scene looks slightly darker

I believe i have a style a from jdf as well, not sure thoughā¦ I had another part 5ā¦ which the eyes holes were made to bigā¦ so i had to toss to the trashā¦ as it was just useless and uglyā¦ then i got tony jarvis maskā¦
