My fiancée is cool about them, now, but she was freaked out a bit also. She hates when I wear any of them, just afraid of the emotionless look. On a side note, ahe absolutely is terrified by dolls, the masks sort of have the same vibe they do to her she says.
Sometime close to last halloween when she had left the room and went to the restroom, basically as soon as she was out of site I hurried to my feet so I could suit up. She came back in with me in full costume when she opened her bedroom door and was naturally surprised…scared her the crap out of her lol…we laughed after,I had just caught her off guard.
Was really hard to get this pic after making her scream like that, but she is has gotten a lot cooler about the masks now days, although she still won’t let me display them in the room we sleep in lol.
I can’t complain though,was a lucky find for sure!
I can’t say I’ve been judged so far for it, usually just people get a bit of sticker shock when I tell them what I pay or what tends to be payed (though I’m pretty thrifty and have gotten a deal on most of my masks) they just don’t really understand that there’s a market and desire for masks. My current lady friend loves it, she’s a horror fan herself. My parents dig it, which is good because my dad got me into them, particularly Halloween, so he can’t say shit about it anyway haha
good for you knightblake.if one of my dates judged me over it oh well.than that’s her opinion and she can hit the door where the good lord split her too.now ive shared my collection with few people.sometimes ill post selfies but I never get judgement.mostly get praise.or where did you get that?bcuz theyll usually want one like it.and ill tell them.now I feel few may do it behind my back.however that doesn’t bother me.its not really thiers or anyones business what I collect or have a hobby of in my own home.kingdom.domain.etc…at this point in my life im a grown ass man and ill collect or have a hobby in whatever the hell it is I want to.especially if it keeps anyone including myself out of getting into anything worse or terrible lifestyle like drugs or crime or something.i say if hobbies are postitive and its a positive thing their is absolutely nothing wrong with collecting masks.or movie memorabilia.thier is a lot of positive out of this.it requires one to research the art their into.and heck some go on to become great artists out of this.i just don’t see any bad out of this.or any reason for some to judge others.so long as the person isn’t neglecting priorities.or that it becomes way out of control I suppose.but id think most of us have reserve.and understanding that priorities should be first.just makes sense.anyway as far as anyone judge me especially if they coming from a place of unforknowledge than I really don’t give a damn about their opinions im an older gentleman whos seen a lot of life.been through a lot.and I just don’t buy into bullshit anymore.and the way I see it is im a grown ass man.ill do whatever the hell it is I want to do.i live in America right?this still a free country?i own my own home.ive raised three kids.im at a point ill will do what I want.if it makes me happy.if others don’t like me being happy well I guess that’s just too dern bad for them…because ill be cheesin and be happy til the lil cows come home.especially if it bothers some hater who cant stand to see me happy.well then hell yeah that puts the cherry on top of my day!as it should yours too!collect on fellas…
I use to. But I’ve been collecting longer than most here been alive lol. Back in the 80s it wasn’t “proper” to collect horror toys, masks and props. Now I just tell them to smoke pole if they don’t like me and my toys.
Yup, all the time. I show my friends and family the stuff I have, but no way in hell am I going to show a girl the collection unless I know 100% she’ll be cool with it [emoji38]. Most of my family are ok with it, emphasis on most lol. All of my friends like it though, so there’s that.
Never ever been judged for my collection by anyone I know. The girlfriend is totally cool with it too! I mean look how happy she is to be standing next to Mr. Myers and baby girl.
I’ve had girls think it was a bit odd, and girls that really like them and ask me questions. But even the ones that thought it was odd didn’t judge me as a person. I think you should just aim to date/be friends with people who are accepting of your hobbies, or have the similar hobbies at least. It makes it easier.
If somebody is judgmental or shitty about it, why would you want to date them anyway? They wouldn’t stop judging you with latex masks.
You know honestly the fact that we love Halloween and collecting things such as masks shouldn’t be alarming at all to any female… Half of the women in this country spend fortunes on makeup just to look like something they’re not…
Honestly I’ve been into collecting Myer’s Mask’s for almost 11 years and since I usually surround myself with open-minded people, its never been an issue. Since I have a build very similar to the original “Shape”, most of my friends comment on how fitting it is that I own Michael Myers masks! My girlfriend just rolls her eyes at me though, same with my mom lol.
Yes. Been judged many times over for it. But who cares. If you spend your life living by other peoples wishes and expections, you’ll only die with regret.
I don’t really here about it from friends or family as we all love Halloween. I think my neighbors may though if they catch a peek at me in full Myers get-up at all other times of the year It don’t bother me.
Nothing big, people are generally cool with my horror stuff. Every once and a while someone will say all the masks look the same, or roll their eyes when I bring up coverall brands
