ITT: Discuss your opinions about the first image of the mask we’ve seen so far…
Already a couple threads on it and posted in the main thread. I kinda like it, but I’ll have to see it more before I actually judge it harshly.

I’m really digging it so far. I definitely see Mr. Kirk in there. I also like the kinda “smirk” it has. Christopher Nelson did describe how he wanted the mask to change expression depending on the angle, lighting, etc.(like the 78 mask) and I think this mask will do just that
I figured a thread that focused specifically on the mask would be alright. The main forum is almost 85 pages now! 
I also feel like we’ll be seeing much more of this mask soon, seeing as they’ve already shown us it 7 months before release
I’m not too fond of the aged look, even though I completely understand that’s what they were going for, and it certainly achieves that. I just hope it’s less noticable from a distance with proper lighting. Other than the aged look, I like the mask, I can totally see the original underneath it, and that’s a GREAT thing.

I like what I see so far. I def. want to pick up a TOTS mask specially if it’s off movie mold. I think this movie will be decent. John Carpenter is involved, he liked the script. Can’t be any worse then “Resurrection” Dangertainment…Give me a fckn break.
My first reaction is negative. I don’t like that they tried to replicate age lines on a mask, because obviously that’s not how masks age. It would have cracks and things but… yeah IDK. not sure how I feel about it.
Also, the down look makes him look sad or tired… not scary or frightening. Not a good choice for placement in my mind.

The mask looks good…I just wish they didn’t use it as a teaser or on the poster. Let it be a surprise.
Agreed, thats one thing I loved about the original. Throughout the movie, you see Michael, but not his mask. Either he’s too far off to make out the masks details, or it’s from behind, or you don’t see his head at all. Then after he kills Linda, BAM. That glorious mask.
I never liked the rotted RZ masks but this is very different. We only have one angle so far but the evil appearance is very apparent. We all knew it’d be an aged version of the original, so I’m not sure why some people hate it so much, but I actually think this is going to look much better than anybody thinks. Reminds me of old NightOwl masks mixed with an awoken sense of evil
I think it looks great. Can’t wait to see a teaser or more production shots.
The NFL thought they would get all the attention today with the schedule release…move over Goodell, Michael’s here!
I feel they really captured the overall feel of the Kirk mask. The expression reminds me of the laundry room scene and Annie’s death from the original.

Totally agree. Maybe it will grow on me but I feel the same at the moment.
When I saw the leaked pic from the set, it reminded me of H6. The ear looked kinda goblin like just like H6. Seeing this up close I’m really liking it. Can’t wait for the movie!
