Not a fan, I guess they are trying to make it wrinkled and old, so they are going with an old man Myers approach.

We already knew it would be an “old man” Myers, he’s 61 in this film. Not sure why people were expecting any different.

There’s a huge difference between the mask looking old and looking like an actual face of an old man. It says “corny” right out of the gate.

My feelings are mixed. I like the overall sculpt, but I’m not sold on the “aging” technique used. I will have to see more of the mask before I can truly decide whether I like it or not.

Have we ever even interacted? A Little lost right now. I guess I’m not allowed to have an opinion on it? I don’t see what part of my post was any different than what others have said, or how it was rude or underhanded in any way.

Edit:

Also can you elaborate on “be honest with what you said”? I’ve flip flopped for days on the mask about whether or not I like it. I’ve gone from liking it when I first saw it, to not loving the way it looks, to realizing that I’ll need to wait until I see more.

At the end of the day no myers mask is ever gonna beat or even match the original, they truly caught lightning in a bottle in 78. But my first impression of the new mask is that it has the potential to be the second best mask in the franchise.

I’ll have to see more before I can say for sure how I feel about it but Eric Austin made a good point, the poster could have (likely has) a very high contrast exaggerating the look I Do like the damaged eye, I think that adds a level of creepiness and realism.

I love the mask, reminds me when Anne gets it in the car. Now do I think that’s how a mask ages…no. I can just look at my Kirk and see that’s not the process.
Eye holes sink more etc. Pictures coming sorry didn’t forget ya! Anyway we don’t know where it’s been for 40 years, maybe a cat was using it as a play toy… so that might explain some wrinkles etc… I think it looks creepy as hell and I think it can pass for it being the original. Happy Halloween!

I was thinking along them same lines that maybe it was in a old storage shed and rats were scratching at it. We keep calling them wrinkles when in fact maybe there just scratch marks. Really does look more like that. God knows what’s on the other side of the face. Maybe a little deformation of the mouth area? What about the infamous Needle Hole, has it got bigger by rotting. Then there’s the Goblin Ear deal floating around I personally think that’s just the way the picture looks from being a long shot.

Imagine the mask has been in a large evidence bag in the back of a filing cabinet for 40 years. No sunlight, nothing to give it form. Maybe it’s had heavy items on it like books or stacks of packed folders. That’s where the creases and wrinkles come from. The mask has been imprisoned and largely forgotten like the Shape who wore it. Until now…

I don’t think the poster is the BEST representation of the mask. Give it some time, we will al finally see it together and all want one…badly. Just from the poster, it has a vibe to it.

The only way a mask can age is over time, the circumstances it’s put through…and the quality of the latex.
