I’m not diggin this angle at all. The other pics look pretty cool. But 2k? Are you serious. For that price it should be perfect from all angles. And It’s not.
I have to say Nik did some good work on this thing. He and I discussed the mask awhile back and he did a real quick “rushed” copy that wasn’t made public yet. You can see many similarites of the 75 Kirk in it in these comparison pics:
Keep in mind this was just a flawed piece he kept because it wasn’t perfect to sale so by no means is it a great finished mask but look at the detail of the 75 Kirk similarities!!
I’d push the pope down the stairs for one of these!
Lantern, you bastard LMFAO !!! I read that just as I was going on air to talk on the radio, and I couldn’t keep my shit together AT ALL ! I laughed my way through my entire on air bit.
Colin, Great job on that conversion man!!
Cool comparison Benny, thats the thing about the H-78 to me.
The structure and details of the mask just have it.
Again, Beauty is in the eye on the beholder…
Its awesome to here all the different views on the H-1 mask…
Later!

Jason, you’ve got some cool comparison pics as well…but for me to be really sure you need to send your mask to me for some in person comparison. Pics can lie!!! I’ll send it back…honest!!! …sure I will, sure I will!
Its on its way!!! NOT!!!
The best way to judge imo are video’s. I like the vids. because you get a better view of the mask as well. That why I did quite a few on youtube.
Plus, after taking so many pictures, your finger gets cramped up!
Seriously, I wish I had that kirk to do a side by vid.
I’m still determined to find one at a garage sale! IT WILL HAPPEN!!!

It’s great to here everyone’s thoughts on this…I have had a few pm’s about the mask I posted, it’s a Mint75 AHG finished up for me.
The mint75 is to flat in the face, in the pics i posted, i had stuff the sides of the face and bridge of the nose, the middle of the top lip, and under the chin, i also stuff it in the lower mouth area.
the mask standing by itself looked like any other ol mint75.
I do have other pics, but they are so far back in my photobucket, if i have time tomorrow i will dig some up for you. But these are the best pics I have.
This mask has been sold, I no longer have it.
It doesn’t look like this mask anymore…it was completely redone by Colin. And the mask didn’t look like that at all times.
It took me a few hours to stuff it like that.
The problem with an H1 mask is you have to decide which scene you want the mask to look like. For example the mask being worn by TLW in the closet scene and lighting looks differant than other scenes being worn by Castle and lighting. As many as 5 differant people played the shape in H1. As far as I know only Dick Warlock played the shape in H2.

Excellent point… There are a few incredible masks out there that are almost dead on to certain scenes… However, getting one that looks dead on in every capacity is impossible, since there were different looks from the beginning.
If I had my choice of which look, I would probably pick the one in this pic. If I ever have someone do a mask for me, I would probably want them to use this pic for a reference.
to me, chris morgan has already nailed the h1 look for me with his nightalkers and the L75 i will have in a few weeks. no offense but I think some collectors are just too picky (dont bash me for this thought but thats how i feel with all the great masks out there that scream H1)
There are nice masks out there now, JC can make anything look great.
Remember this topic was started in 09 before that took place.
There is nothing wrong with being picky ether.
If not for collectors or artists being picky, there would not be very much drive for accuracy. Like Jon said, picky is a good thing when it comes to art.
