ROB ZOMBIES HALLOWEEN 2 WAS A JOKE . IT WAS A TOTAL PIECE OF GARBAGE IF YOUR GOING TO DO A REMAKE AT LEAST TRY TO STICK TO THE STORY AND ADD A FEW NEW THINGS BUT PLEASE STICK TO THE STORY. THIS MOVIE IS MORE OF A SEQUEL TO THE DEVILS REJECTS THAN HALLOWEEN AS FAR AS I COULD REMEMBER MICHEAL MYERS WAS NEVER A 7 FOOT TALL WRESTLER . HE LOOKED LIKE THE UNDERTAKER. IVE SEEN BETTER REMAKES ON YOUTUBE. I GUESS ROB ZOMBIE JUST DOESN’T GET IT. ROB ZOMBIE BECAUSE OF HIS NAME HE GOT A CHANCE TO DO TWO MICHEAL MYERS MOVIES AND HE BLEW IT BOTH TIMES . I HAD TO WALK OUT OF THE THEATER IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS CRAP SNUCK INTO SEE QUENTIN TARANTINOS INGLORIOUS BASTARDS AND I AT LEAST GOT MY MONEYS WORTH THANK YOU AMC 20. :finga:
Myers was played by Tyler Mane in the previous film so its only natural Tyler would play myers again. I thought Michael Myers was pretty badass in the new film, in fact I thought Tyler Mane was one of the strong points in Rz’s films but that is my opinion. This was suppose to be a sequel to his remake of Halloween not a remake of the original halloween 2 and there is no need for all caps.
indeed. probably an elder member who made up an alias just to talk more senseless shit about the new film. he doesnt even know enough about the film to understand that its not a remake of the original Halloween II. its been well known for awhile that rob went his own direction on this one.
maybe creepypsychodicko learned something from his 2nd post.
well I for one know it was not a remake. Of course it was a “reimagining” as was the last one by RZ, but that one I liked, this one I couldnt stand.
Too many things that made Myers great for all these years were changed drastically. He didnt even tilt his head in this one. He had some sort of giant Rambo knife instead of the kitchen knife, and his grunting was ridiculous, I hated that most.
It’s selfish enough to put his own wife in every movie, but to give her such a big role is crossing the line. She was in it more than Myers was. Every sequence with her, the horse and little Michael got so tedious.
Every kill was nearly the exact same: body on ground and constand stabbing downwards. There were others, but way too many of the same kill.
The editing came way out of left field, something the first RZ didn’t have, which is why it was a lot like Devil’s Rejects as previously mentioned. It wasnt as if the whole movie was like that, it only happened in a few scenes so it did not match at all.
Then Annie’s death scene was all screwed up from beginning to end. The did a stupid slo-mo on her runnign away, then cut away. Then when she’s officially dead, the movie tried to give you a nice somber “cry for her” scene with the audio muted and music that would fit a movie like Gladiator when the main hero dies. That also came out of left field and did not fit in the movie.
The list goes on. I rarely ever take apart a horror like this. Prom Night (awful) and The Hills Have Eyes 2 (awful) were the two most recent that I couldnt stand and this fits right in there.
I went with a buddie of mine who is good friends with RZ and goes on tour with his son’s music group and he told me he was going to have a few words with him after he saw this.
Cmon, 15 people left my theatre. That’s more than the most I ever saw leave which was a group of 5 leave Ang Lee’s Hulk.
Lol… You don’t have to get your panties all up in a bunch. The movie still sucks period… Ok its not a remake so call it what you want any other title would be fine just dont call it Halloween . Theres only one problem if you don’t call it Halloween nobody goes to see it ,hence you rape the hell out of the franchise and you make an iconic maniac like Michael Myers look like a homeless drifter. Rob Zombie needs to smoke some better shit to improve his imagination . You better recognize I got one Boss :finga:
Creepy makes a good point. This movie would be nothing to anyone but Rob Zombie fans without the Halloween title and Michael Myers, so why is it okay for people to justify Rob’s bad movie by saying, “It’s a remake, it doesn’t have to be anything like the original…” Everyone knows this film would be nothing with out a few superstar names, so they attach Halloween and Myers to put some butts in the seats. I wonder how many people would have seen this movie if it were titled “Christmas Eve”, and the main character was Jake Johnson?
I would.
Give me more slashers and horrors on he big screen like this instead of the usual crap that gets dished out yearly…MIRRORS…EYES…TOURISTAS…im going to spare my hands and not type more but you get the point.
There were at least 8-10 people who walked out on this piece of crap when I went last Friday as well. This seems to be a somewhat normal reaction to RZ’s latest evidence that he is a brain dead, trailer-trash piece of crap.
Regardless of the word “Halloween” being associated with this piece of garbage the movie still sucks all on its own. It just makes it worse being tied to a franchise that has now hit a new low.
How anyone can find this movie to be anything less than an ultimate embarassment is beyond me. Of course some people actually thought House of 1,000 Corpses was “visionary” too.
Zombie needs to go back to his trailer, get his crack pipe out and start working on another “visionary” idea. A remake of The Blob, but of course without the Blob. What a visionary genius we have here.
You would, NY Ghoul…and so would a lot of other horror fans. But…the Weinsteins are smart enough to know that there’s NO way the “Halloween” remake makes $55 million (or whatever it made) let alone $30-some million in its opening weekend with the name “Halloween”.
Sure, if it were a “stand-alone” Zombie horror flick, it would’ve made money. But adding the names “Halloween” and Michael Myers to it GUARANTEES not only the aficionados turning out…but also people who are CURIOUS to see what the remake is compared to the original.
yeah see, it doesnt matter whether who liked it or not, it’s the fact numerous people left theatres during and throughout the movie at several locations. This wasnt a one time, one theatre thing. It was constant. 10 in yours left, 15 in mine, I mean thats freakin unheard of! I think that says a lot and some people are just defending the movie based on loyalty to the series and Myers. Hell, the only reason I didnt leave was because of that, but it didnt make the movie better than awful. I mean I very rarely see people leave unless theyre going to the bathroom and getting mroe food/drink.
And as mentioned in my thread, maybe some left because of the gore factor, but lets get serious, this wasnt gory like Hostel I or II. There was just lost of fake syrup blood really.
And at my theater, people were gasping at every kill. Noone walked out. Funny, uh? And this was not just violent but tremendously brutal. Most people didn’t expect this kind of hardcore violence.
Or maybe, this is the majority and this the 10%. Funny how, I only hear about walkouts here. And let’s be honest, I’m sure most of those walkouts are in your head. Everything to bring the movie down.
First, please explain this statement…I’ve been following this thread, but it seems to have derailed a bit for me with this statement. I don’t get the point you’re trying to make here… Please elaborate.
You only hear about walkouts here because we’re all discussing the movie. Do you spend a lot of time talking to “average” movie-goers across the nation? Or people who DON’T frequent a Michael Myers site? To you gauge the opinion of people who are not movie buffs let alone “Halloween” buffs?
My point it…of course you’re going to hear about walkouts here; this is a “Halloween”/Michael Myers forum and we’re discussing the film. You wouldn’t expect to hear about “H2” walkouts anywhere else, would you? And you also wouldn’t expect someone to post that news in other places because it wouldn’t make much sense. It’s be totally random. If you need “proof” from other sources of other people being disappointed with the film, go to the forums of the official “Halloween” website…you’ll read about plenty of walkouts there as well. Or check random MySpace and Facebook updates. I’ve seen a LOT of people saying bad things about the movie and talking about walkouts there as well.
For you to say the walkouts are in his head; you’re basically accusing him of making it up just because he doesn’t like the film. I can assure you I didn’t imagine my wife walking out of the film…and I also didn’t imagine two people walking out of the film when DarklyScanner and I saw it last Friday morning. And I don’t imagine my friends from Indiana lying about walking out just for the fun of it.
And, remember…before you start bashing/criticizing/pointing fingers at others for “bring[ing] the movie down” (as if the film has feelings or something), you yourself were spouting more anger, hate, and vehemence in the direction of the film than perhaps anyone else last week. You changed your mind, and you are more than entitled to do so. Just try to remember the place you were when you wrote the “anti-Zombie” posts you did days ago before you come down on other for doing the same.
Take a chill pill. And yes I was anti-Zombie. I saw the film and I said it was the worst slasher film in the last 10 years, which is a lie. A lie I said because I wanted to bring down RZ again. Like most other people here, I overreacted and just bashed and bashed and bashed endlessly. You seem pissed that people are having a change of heart about the film. Just piss off, I can think what I want.
I need to take a chill pill for being honest and just stating my opinion? Uh…okay. For the record, I wasn’t angry when I wrote that. I was just stating facts and being verbose… Nothing that needs “chilling”, I assure you. And if I need to chill for expressing my opinion, couldn’t the same be said for you, or anyone else who posts on here? I didn’t curse, I didn’t insult you, I didn’t slander you at all…I just wrote a post. What about that requires "chill"ing?
And, for the record, I’m not “pissed” that people like you are changing their minds about the film… Yes, you are entitled to “think what…[you]…want”. And for the record, I NEVER said you couldn’t, did I?
I was merely pointing out to you how hypocritical it seems for you to come down on someone for not liking the film when you yourself had nothing but bad things to say about it a few days ago. Maybe he too will change his mind upon repeat viewings… So, maybe you should just ease up on others who don’t like the film. Because YOU yourself said similar things just a few days back. If you can’t see my point in pointing this out, I don’t know what else to say.
It’s not that serious and I certainly dont down anyone for liking it, kind of the way you downed me and everyone who disliked it which is the majority of people who saw it.
15 left mine, period. Another user said 10 left his. Others said some left theirs as well. That’s a lot. Why would I want to make up something like that? Read my posts in the “To all the RZ haters” threads. I backed up and this movie before it came out. Im not a RZ hater, I really liked his H1, so I obviously went in expecting more great things. But I was stunned and shocked by what I saw. It wasnt like I went in mad and expected crap. When I see bad reviews that does nothing to me. The first one got them, the F13 remake got them, every Shyalaman movie gets them, and I’ve like each!
I was upset and still am. I would never in a million years thought this movie would be as bad as it was to me. I saw the first one by myself opening night because I couldnt wait 24 hours for my friend to have a day off. For this one I did wait and…there are no words to describe how I feel.
Im not the guy who complained this movie was going to suck then hated it as expected. I think most who know me are shocked I didnt like it because I like too many movies and remakes most have protested against and hated.
But if we both liked the first, but differ on the 2nd, that just says some are more willing to accept the drastic change of movie it was from it’s the previous one.
