Sorry you had to deal with a troll, OP. Iām looking forward to whenever youāre able to get it into production!
(Alternatively, if youāve managed to get a pattern from it already I would also be interested in buying that as I wouldnāt mind sewing one myself!)
My hand sewn, self-altered coveralls. A lot if pin pricks before I finished these⦠anyone know where to get the buttons (wrist cuffs and front buttons) that match the Sears Tradewears?
I swear itās the same person that has been trolling this forum for about a year now just making new accounts. All of their insults are exactly the same. The first account was āCount_Orlokā nowās he just making moreā¦
Iāve seen Sears Tradewear and Work & Leisure coveralls with the jean enclosure collar button and the snap collar button. Iāve also seen both with either the more square(at the bottom) chest pockets like the pair Nick Castle wore in H1 and the more rounded(at the bottom) chest pockets. There were obviously variations of both of these.
The Work & Leisures Iāve seen that have the jean enclosure collar button and the more square(at the bottom) chest pockets appear to be more accurate to the pair that Nick Castle wore in H1 than the Tradewears with the jean enclosure collar button and the more square(at the bottom) chest pockets. The location of the chest pockets are closer to the waist and the jean enclosure button is in a different position on the Tradewears Iāve seen.
Iām starting to believe that the coveralls Nick Castle wore were Work & Leisure. Maybe Dick Warlock was told he needed to get Work & Leisure coveralls or maybe the pair Nick Castle wore in H1 were still around but didnāt fit Dick Warlock so he bought another pair of Work & Leisures which were being made with the snap collar button. This is just a theory since it seems that the H1 coveralls might have been Work & Leisure. If anyone has has other information about why Dick Warlock bought the Work & Leisure coveralls that will help.
I was lucky to find a pair of Sears Work & Leisure coveralls in Navy Blue that have the jean enclosure collar button and the more square bottom chest pockets. They are in mint condition and fit me. Iām 5ā10" and these are 40T but they fit just fine. The sleeves come down about 1.5 inches above my knuckles. I donāt mind them being blue. The last time I wore green coveralls everyone kept saying Michael wore blue coveralls. lol
Iām referring to the placement of the pockets and the collar button. I donāt believe itās been confirmed exactly which green the H1 coveralls were. However Tex Green looks like it could be the color.
If you look at the pictures Michael Myers 1978 posted you can see that chest pockets and collar button placement is more accurate on his Work & Leisure coveralls to the pair Nick Castle wore. My Work & Leisure coveralls are also more accurate.
Iāve seen pictures of other Tradewear coveralls and the chest pockets are a bit too low and the collar button is in a slightly different location.
Do you have a link to pictures of the Sears catalog that confirm the colors? Did the Work & Leisure and Tradewears always come in the same colors over all the years?
I understand that the description of Tex Green is a gray green but I donāt believe that Tex Green was ever confirmed by Tommy Lee Wallace or anyone that worked on Halloween. TLW did say they were a grayish green but it could have just been a faded green. Iāve yet to see Tradewears that have the chest pockets and the collar button in the exact same position as the coveralls in H1.
Nick Castle himself stated they were blueish grey which is how Tex Green looks, Work N Leisures didnāt come in Tex, Ghostlyshape has posted it when showing his pair
Itās bizarre how Nick Castle and Tommy Lee Wallace remember the coveralls looking a different color. TLW said they were a very grayed down kind of green. He said they werenāt an olive drab.
