I know this is a Halloween forum and nearly everyone on here will probably disagree with me, but i really think that “Halloween” is overrated as hell. Don’t get me wrong, i still thinks it’s decent, i like it enough to have watched it a couple of times. But I have a few major gripes with this film. First off, the characters except for Dr. Loomis are horrible and Laurie’s decent. They are the definition of one dimensional and make the movie pretty boring imo. Also, i have a problem with Michael Myers in this movie (and H20 actually): by the end of the film, he is a complete joke. His aim is ridiculously bad (when he’s behind the couch when Laurie’s holding the knitting needle; he stabs the couch and Laurie didn’t even dodge lol) and all around doesn’t seem that threatening.
Halloween is a mediocre movie imo, though definetly not bad by any means (probably was perceived differently in 1978). Does anybody share my opinion? And anyone care to elaborate why he/she thinks this movie is so great? Also didn’t mean to offend anybody who loves this movie haha but would like to know why
