HALLOWEEN (2017) CONFIRMED - JOHN CARPENTER EXECUTIVE PROD.

Damn, man. Those pictures look like they could’ve been taken here in Michigan.

I really hope this is true. JC has been an “executive producer” before. It was The Fog (remake) and he basically got a paycheck to show up and do nothing. He admits as much. So maybe he will have more input this time

Really interested to know which storyline the go off of

Hope they let John run with it and he actually is interested.

Would suck if he was only cashing in.

This is encouraging, but the writer, cinematographer, and director need to be on point. Go back to minimalism, look at directors that can do minimalism. A lot of these indie horror directors have worked with one another, many with Larry Fessenden in some capacity (he’s produced or acted in films by a ton of these highly touted indie horror directors). I’d love to see someone like Brad Anderson, Jim Mickle, Jennifer Kent, or Ti West do a Halloween film.

I would love to see JC and company re tell the H1 story in a way that Introduces that story to a new generation, but still honors the original.

If it is a success, I think today’s audiences are a lot more keen on the idea of a Halloween movie anthology series than they were in the 1980s. I say do MM one more time that completely honors the character, then do a new Halloween style movie with the sequels with JC in charge.

What about Michael Dougherty as director? I thought he did an awesome job on both Trick r Treat and Krampus.

As I told a fellow horror friend of mine off site, that would be positively fantastic. “Trick 'R Treat” had a great Halloween feel to it. If we can hope for anything, it’s for the next “HalloweeN” movie to have the tone of “Trick 'R Treat”.

I like the idea of restarting the anthology, but I’d prefer they left the Halloween name out of it. Halloween should be associated with Michael Myers and nothing else, IMO.

Agreed. It’s way too late to try and take Myers out of the series. I think a halloween themed anthology series would be great, but only as a separate entity.

even if he just does the music sweet

The one thing I loved about Trick 'R Treat was the fact that it had such an amazing Halloween feeling to it. And I agree, I really do hope they go with the same tone/feeling for the next Halloween movie that Trick 'R Treat had.

I think the idea of a Halloween themed anthology series is great. It could go somthing like what I’ve put below:

Halloween: The Boogeyman
Halloween: Campfire Tales
Halloween: Witchboard
Halloween: Samhain
Halloween: Demon Night

All I know is this is gonna be great, I just know it!!

I hope they either make a direct sequel to H1 and do it like John has stated he wished he had and disregard the sister angle, or pick up after H2 in a way that is believable.

Ultimately since we no longer have DP, Loomis would have to be killed off from the explosion and since Jamie Lee Curtis is way older now, she likely won’t return or rather couldn’t due to her obvious difference in look due to aging.

Recasting is a no go for both characters imo. especially of they try to follow directly after one of the first 2 movies.

Picking up after 1 would be best, disregarding 2 (as much as I love it) and going forth with a mysterious no motive Myers as John said he would have rather had.

Plenty of issues with that scenario, such as Loomis being alive but an interesting one for sure. Have yet to see any franchise really do this type of sequel well, would love for them to pull it off though and have it set in 70’s /80’s.

They for sure would need a kirk/shatner style mask and Castle sized person to make the continuity work.

If they do pick up after 2 I hope Michael’s overalls and mask are charred up and show damage.

How about Rob Zombie as the director haha

lmfao, that would be a turn up for the books if they brought him back lol.

In a perfect world for me, Joe Lynch would be given the job of directing. It’s a toss up between him an Adam Green, because both deserve a shot. Give Joe Halloween, and Adam F13

Seriously though, Joe Lynch would be an awesome choice.

What you describe sounds like that heaven place. Haha seriously love those too also!!
