The details for the 35th anniversary Blu Ray of Halloween is out.
I’m not keen on buying yet ANOTHER rehash of Halloween sans no new footage but it will be interesting to see how the new HD transfer looks with Dean’s supervision.
Thanks for sharing BB i’m actually quite the sucker for commentaries and find them really interesting and there may be stuff in there i’ve never heard mentioned before, the additional bonus features don’t seem mind blowing by any stretch of the imagination though.
Between the Cundey involvement and the JLC Horrorhound footage,I am sold.I remember Jamie Lee talking about the fact that they were doing a documentary on her appearance at Horrorhound called “The Night SHE Came Home” and having been there, that is something I would love to own as a keepsake. Thanks for the info,Benny my man
Any pics of the art work, or is it not out yet? I saw a picture on HorrorBid, but wasn’t sure if that was it. It looked just like the TOTS mask. Not that is bad i own one myself, but i was kinda disappointed… i figured for HALLOWEEN The 35th Anniversary they would come up with something better. if that is the art work. if its not then i hope it good haha.
Does anyone else remember reading (maybe 5-6 years ago) about there being lost reels from Halloween found of additional takes from scenes and some other footage? I always thought they would prepare that stuff for another anniversary DVD/Blu Ray, but haven’t read anything about that since. I can’t remember the source of that information either.
Yeah, but that “unseen footage” is in the wrong hands with current owner for anything to be done with it, it is technically the property of Trancas Inc but they don’t feel they should have to pay for something that is technically already their’s as the copyright holders, and i don’t blame them, so it’s basically a dead end as to anything being done with it at this point.
The lost footage was actually found in a storage unit and it was then later purchased by Billy Kirkus/current owner. about all the legalities etc i think Trancas can/will only take action if any of the unseen footage is shown/released by anyone other than themselves.

So who has the “unseen footage?” and can’t Trancas take them to court if they technically own it? I’m kinda confused, sorry.[/quote]

New 4K Cundey transfer, new surround sound mix, plus lossless original mono is good enough for me, the commentary is a nice bonus as all Carpenter commentaries with another party (save for the In the mouth of Madness One) are great and Jamie Lee is lively. The only other thing I’d ever ask is a separate transfer decked out to look like they actually filmed it in autumn, it’d be more difficult, but it’s also enhance the atmosphere of the film.
Lol…footage found at a storage unit. Not true… The footage is in the best hands possible. I’m off this weekend…I have an idea about something. I think you all maybe surprised about something.
Yell at Trancas…they are the reason you have not seen it. They could have bought this footage back in the early 1990’s but Moustapha did understand what it was…much like and still, now with his son.
I’m friends with Don at Synapse, image what would happen if Synapse gets Halloween…the floodgate would be opened. Don is restoring Prom Night and Curtains…have you seen the images on Synapse Films on Facebook? Imagine that with Halloween.
