On a serious note, here are the answers to these questions which have been answered by me several, several, several times in the past in interviews, posts and general knowledge.
The Questions…
- What footage do you have?
- How much footage do you have?
- What condition is the footage in?
- Do you have the sound for all of the footage?
The Answers…
-I have every take, every scene that was filmed for the movie: deleted scenes, bloopers and test footage. Whatever did not make it into the movie…I have.
-50,000 to 60,000 feet of footage. 4 to 5 hours of footage. (Let’s just say 55,000 to be clear.)
-Well, if you watched the Panaglide Test Footage, it’s just like that. It’s never been run…mint, I guess you can call it.
-We do not have the sound…but that is not to say Trancas already has the sound, or MGM, where they transferred the movie. Or a Sound Boom Operator, who still has the sound reels in their closet. Maybe it’s still at Warner Brothers where they mixed the TV Footage. It’s out there, you just have to look for it. Studios have pallets of stuff that’s number coded, not listed by titles, so the numbers on the spools of footage have sound numbers as well; as does the outside of the boxes. (None of the footage is on reels, it all spooled up and number coded with the script.)
-Trancas made an offer for the footage, .18 cents a foot. That’s ridiculous, the film stock alone is worth a lot more than that. I can sell the footage at conventions for a “buck a foot” in a nice frame and everything and still make under what the film stock is worth and more than Trancas offered. They made an unreal offer. They made an offer that I stated would not warrent a talk on the phone or a look at the footage, if they’d like to re-make an offer, a real offer…where I can counter their offer, they could but they never did.
-Let me tell you about the 2012 Halloween re-release poster. This IS a true stroy. A VERY well known Hollywood movie graphic artist was offered a whopping $100 by Trancas to design the poster for the re-release. $100! This artist’s work has been used for movie posters and other types of media. Trancas offers him $100? Really?! That’s not just for an idea, that’s the whole design. This is not Obamacare telling you what they will pay for the procedure…this is a multi-million dollar company saying this.
